The $300 XBox One Is Back — For Now
Last holiday season, the XBox One and PS4 finally became affordable to the mainstream tier of console buyers when their respective machines were lowered in retail price to $300. That sticker decision was reversed in January, but it’s only a matter of time until it becomes permanent, especially if the redesigned smaller consoles are more than a rumor.
But for those who missed their first chance, you’ve got a second one: Best Buy is discounting all 500GB XBox One bundles to the $300 mark this week. The lone exceptions are the more expensive 1 TB bundles such as the Division set….but since BB is taking $50 off across the board, those are now $350. If there’s no Best Buy near you the deal is also offered online, though that depends on stock.
There is more: when you get a new XBox console, Best Buy will knock $10 off the purchase of an extra controller. There are a lot of XBox One bundles to pick from; choose your favorite.
UPDATE: It’s not just Best Buy. Microsoft has announced the $50 price cut is now in effect across the board at all retailers. However, it’s still for a limited time.
