Black Ops 3 Prequel Comic Coming From Dark Horse
Dark Horse Comics sometimes publishes official prequel and sequel comics detailing the backstory or further adventures behind high-profile video games. Their Last Of Us prequel comic “American Dreams” was great, and readers should have high hopes for their Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 prequel comic (which has no subtitle).
“A prequel to the highly-anticipated game, the Call of Duty®: Black Ops III comic book series follows an elite group of soldiers as they wage a secret war across a futuristic war-torn world transformed by technology,” said Dark Horse. “In the bullet-ridden first issue, the team infiltrates Tashkent, Uzbekistan to take down a double agent . . . but as they close in, they uncover something much more sinister at hand.”
The comic will be written by Larry Hama, veteran of Dark Horse’s GI Joe comic for many years. Hama can’t actually play video games anymore due to arthritis, but he considers himself a fan anyway. Marcelo Ferreira, who previously illustrated Transformers and TMNT comics, will produce the art.
If you’re going to be at San Diego Comic-Con (and if you are I envy you), you’ll be able to pick up a preview mini-comic featuring a sneak peek at this title at the Dark Horse booth (#2615). The full comic will be available for purchase at comic stands on November 4.
