Black Ops 3 On Wii U? Maaaaay-be
With the release of its latest trailer, Activision and developer Treyarch have confirmed Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be out on PC, XBox One and PS4. But when it comes to a Wii U version, Activision remans coy. Today they were confronted directly about the fact that the Call of Duty website will accept a log-in from any Nintendo account. Twitter user GoodGamer14 asked the question and in response he got this:
Bluescoutz @GoodGamer14 Apr 27
@Activision @Treyarch Why we can connect our Nintendo IDs to the Call of Duty site if you are not developing nothing for it?
Activision Support
@GoodGamer14 Hey there. Stay tuned for more Wii U releases. ^DL
It’s not really an answer to his question. But it’s not a denial either. It is a confirmation that Activision is developing SOMETHING for Wii U, which in itself is a reversal of an earlier decision to drop support for the machine. And since the login works with the Call of Duty website specifically, and Activision is not likely to be unveiling their own mascot platformer game anytime soon, the odds of this mystery game being Black Ops 3 increase.
If we do get Black Ops III on Wii U, let’s hope Activision has the sense to release it same-day and not six months down the line when everyone’s already played it on a competing console. Let’s also hope this means Nintendo has learned to give third parties the leeway to sell their DLC and coordinate their online experiences without interference or bottlenecks.
We will see, won’t we?
