Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Developers Not Sweating 'Titanfall Ripoff' Claims
Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is multiplayer-focused game with a futuristic setting and an emphasis on superhuman, vertical movement. Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall is a multiplayer game with a futuristic setting and an emphasis on superhuman, vertical movement.
Titanfall shipped first, so inevitably Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has been called a ripoff of Titanfall despite the fact that its three-year development cycle means Advanced Warfare was on the drawing board long before Titanfall came out.
But Sledgehammer Games Co-Founder Michael Condrey isn’t stung by these accusations. He was asked about the ripoff claims on Twitter, and said it’s just not something Sledgehammer thinks about.
“Not worried about it. When people play it in November, it will speak for itself,” Condrey said.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be out Nov. 4 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PC.
