Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Will Have a 'Sledgehammer Mark on It'
Sledgehammer Games developers claim that although Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will use the groundwork laid by previous game, it will have a uniquely Sledgehammer twist.
Studio headsĀ Glen Schofield andĀ Michael Condrey and senior development director Aaron Halon recently talked to Game Informer for a video interview. The developers talk about how collaborating with Infinity Ward helped them to learn the ropes of making a Call of Duty, and how now they are able to build on that and make a game that is both Call of Duty and uniquely a “Sledgehammer game.”
“We approached this like we would any new IP. This has been one heck of a creative challenge. Everything is brand new in the game,” Schofield said.
Halon repeatedly says that he’s aware of what fans expect of a Call of Duty game, and that the team is committed to “the best work of our careers.”
Halon said Sledgehammer is always trying to recruit the best talent and the team is now at a little over 200 people.
“These games, they’re huge. They’re massive undertakings. If anything it’s going to go higher,” Halon said.
He also said Call of Duty players should know that the game is in good hands at Sledgehammer.
“Don’t worry about it. Again, we’re fans. We’re really scrutinizing what we’re doing ourselves, and can’t wait to show this stuff off,” Halon said.
