Call Of Duty Gets More Silly Food Promotions
Corporate synergy between bro-targeted games and bro-targeted food is nothing new. For years now ultra-high-fructose soft drinks and triangular chips have ridden the coattails of major FPS releases, offering in-game bonuses in exchange for chugging their glop. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will not be exempt from this.
Activision announced another corporate tie-in between Black Ops 3 and Mountain Dew and Doritos. Black Ops 3 will be promoted on the packaging for both products. Mountain Dew will also be shipping in two extra flavors this fall: Game Fuel Citrus Cherry and Game Fuel Berry Lime. Not even this is new; Game Fuel Berry Lime was previously sold to promote a Halo game, and probably other Call of Duty games as well.
Citrus Cherry is a new concoction, and both promise to benefit your gameplaying by offering double XP for Black Ops 3 when you enter the codes the drinks provide on their packaging. Doritos will do the same, but without the extra flavors because what they’ve got on the shelf is mutant enough. Keep in mind, though, the codes will only be good for the Zombie mode in the game.
There’s more: if you eat enough Doritos and slam down enough Mountain Dew, you will turn into an actual zombie! Your friends will be so jealous.
