The Walking Dead Has Material Through Season 12
So how long might our favorite show last? A long damn time, if you ask The Walking Dead Producer David Alpert.
Alpert said that because the show is adapting a long-running comic, there is a lot of story to play with.
“I happen to love working from source material, specifically because we have a pretty good idea of what season 10 is gonna be. We know where season 11 and 12…we have benchmarks and milestones for those seasons if we’re lucky enough to get there,” Alpert said at a recent panel at the Producer’s Guild of America Produced By conference.
During the panel Alpert also discussed what can and can’t be done on cable television with the other producers present, including Bryan Fuller of NBC’s Hannibal. That led to a revealing insight into how AMC portions out salty language.
“We get four shits,” Alpert countered. “We can use ‘dick’ and ‘pussy’ in nonsexual context, and we get as many ‘douche bags’ as we want.”
