I wish I could have gone last year. Sophie/Brianna was there, as was Diana. But I'm excited about this year :D From what I've read Ed is a very sweet man!

I don't know if you've heard about this... but
We have your epic Sunday night plans. Tune in to @STARZ at 8PM E/P to catch the exclusive opening scene of #Outlander Season 5.

Season 5 Episode 1 The Fiery Cross

Welcome Back! Before I get to the episode itself, I wanted to comment on this season’s version of the Skye Boat song. Interesting. A lot more chorales with, of course, some different opening credits footage.

Most of the episode was devoted to Roger and Bree’s wedding. There were many, many touching moments. We even got a flash back of Jamie and Claire saying their own vows. It all went down well enough, for a Protestant ceremony, lol and there was a nice reception for everyone with food, dancing and even drinking games. We learned that Jamie had given his daughter and her family their old cabin as he had completed enough work on his new place for him and Claire to live in, since Roger doesn’t have any building skills....or hunting skills, or farming skills or much of anything he’ll need to support his family, lol, but he assures his father -in- law he’ll find a way.

They sprung this on the audience rather quickly but as I warned last season, both Jamie and Bree find out that Bonnet is alive and well! Jamie doesn’t realize Bree overheard this conversation with Lord John but it puts a pall over the evening’s festivities for her.
“He’s too good for hell, even the devil won’t have him”

Later, there’s nookie all around for our main couples, except Fergus and Marsali who’s expecting again! Aunt Jo meets Murtagh in a little hut he’s been hiding in (couldn’t go to the wedding cause someone else was in attendance, Gov. Tyron and his men). Granny and Grandda even manage while trying not to wake Wee Jemmy who they’re watching for the night.

Aunt Jo tells Murtagh that she’s been proposed to by Duncan Innes, a man both Jamie and Murtagh knew from Ardsmuir. I thought that Murtagh was going to replace Duncan’s character but with this new regulators story line, I’m wondering if they’re getting ready to kill Murtagh off. In the books he never made it off the field at Culloden. Anyways, he tells Jo that he won’t stand in her way. Stay tuned.

Gov. Tyron pulls his quid pro quo by telling Jamie he has to do more than write when it comes to the regulators. He wants Murtagh swinging. Jamie complies because he knows that the land on which his and all the other families on the Ridge live will be taken back if he doesn’t and he’ll be branded a traitor.

He dresses in his old kilt and sets the Celtic (thank goodness) Cross on fire to gather the men for the upcoming sortie. He calls out the men one by one and they pledge their fealty to him like was once done in the old days, even as he tells them he’s not their chieftain.

In the end we see Jamie warn Murtagh , release him from the vow he made to Ellen, and tells him, “Be hard to find.”
