Safety concern for the workers, of course, but I wouldn't want to be around the shutters or the boxes they arrived in. I hadn't thought about that mode of transmission though, and maybe it can't live for long on surfaces.

Dr. Oz said studies show it can live for up to 5 days on surfaces. Influenza survives for 2 days.

It takes about 6 to 8 weeks for them to make the product and ship them via ocean container, so there's no reasonable cause for concern in that regard.

In China only one person per household will be allowed outside and that every 3 days! Man, they are serious about their quarantine - now.

    "
Although people have been ordered to stay at home, they will be allowed to leave in an emergency, In addition, a single person from each household will be allowed to leave the building every three days to buy food and essential items.

On housing estates, one entrance will be kept open. It will be guarded to ensure that only residents can enter or leave.

All other businesses will stay closed, except chemists, hotels, food shops and medical services."

This is almost exactly what they did in that movie Contagion with Matt Damon.

I wonder if the Chinese are taking notes. lol

    Ezra Cheung (@ezracheungtoto) Tweeted:
#BREAKING: South China University of Technology biologist Xiao Botao exposed that the #COVID19 might have originated from an animal research lab 280m away from the epicentre of the outbreak. The scientists were reportedly bitten by bats used for a test on louse. H/T:

This is a tweet made by a NYTimes/CNN reporter Saturday. The report was published and more than likely was allowed to be published by the Chinese government given the individuals who authored the report are in mainland China and work for a state sponsored school.
    So maybe not bs.

Part time reporter, and the report wasn't made on either CNN or in the Times. He just tweeted it.

You know how they say once you have a particular cold virus you get antibodies and don't get sick from it anymore? I was always suspicious of that, but whatever. At any rate, that is not the case for Corvid-19. The way the body reacts to the first exposure leaves it less able to fight off a second exposure, which is far worse and more likely to be deadly. Because a pathway is different the second time, the heart is under attack the second time. The scientific explanation starts almost 20 minutes in. (20 minutes and some seconds)

He says this is similar to the Spanish flu, where the second wave was more deadly than the first.

Not to be paranoid, but if the Chinese government WANTS you to believe the disease escaped from one of their labs the truth is probably much worse.

Pretty much the time to stop people coming in from outside the country is now. Once the disease is here, it's too late.

Thank you. That is way more my speed. The more I learn about this virus, the scarier I find it to be. It seems they should have quicker approval for the expensive test that actually observes the lungs in trouble.

The first executive has died in China. Their efforts will likely get more vigorous.

    "
The head of a major hospital in China died from the coronavirus on Tuesday morning, as 1,886 new cases were reported in the country, according to multiple reports.

Liu Zhiming was the director of Wuhan Wuchang Hospital located in the epicenter of the virus outbreak, according to Reuters. Zhiming, who had been on life support, was initially reported to have died earlier in the week before that claim was retracted."
