Oh, that's sad. He was a real actor with a long career. RIP

He was never married to Adrienne, but his third wife was Dixie Carter his co-star on Designing Women.

It’s an early-80’s collection of Stephen King stories. Hal Holbrook was the hen-pecked husband in the one truly scary story in the collection.

Boxer Leon Spinks passed away on Friday.

    https://sports.yahoo.com/boxing-legend-leon-spinks-dies-at-67-001655175.html

I got to meet him at one of my brothers fights in Milwaukee. He and another boxer hit on my sister and me. That is, until my dad stepped in and said that he didn’t care if they were boxers. He’d kick their a** if they bothered us again. Lol

I was 19 and had just started dating a very handsome cop. My sister was married.
Leon had no teeth, so no.

How sad. In 1967 I went with my parents to a live taping of an Ice Capades show at the sports arena in our city. It was hosted by Jimmy Dean and Jimmy Durante. The Supremes were the musical guest stars. They wore long sparkly pink gowns and sang Stop In The Name of Love. They were great. They didn’t stick around long after their performance. It must have been cold down there by the ice. They donned fur coats and took off pronto, lol.

The man was bombastic, but he changed the face of AM radio, and probably gave it more years of life. RIP.

I was just thinking a couple weeks ago that he wouldn’t make it much longer.

god help me but when I heard I just thought....meh.
    I know. That’s horrible. I can’t help my thoughts.

I was always a little surprised that he got away with using the Pretenders’ “My City Was Gone” as his theme song for his show. Chrissie Hynde doesn’t strike me as a Republican.

I read an article that covered that. Her father was a Limbaugh fan so she let it slide until Limbaugh got on a high-horse about using a liberal's song to spread his views. Anyway, she then decided to sue him, won, and gave her winnings to PETA to spite him. Sounds reasonable to me.

Oh, and I did like how she initially said, she had a "live and let live" philosophy and so didn't really want to go to town over it at first, but wasn't going to take him rubbing it in.
