Yet another project for George. AMC has picked up this series, "Dark Winds." He's executive producer of the show, which is filming in New Mexico.

Anything to get out of finishing his books, lol. I think he’s hit the wall with a big ‘ole writers block. Maybe he’s trying to get reenergized by concentrating on something else for awhile.

 

The filming is right in New Mexico where he lives so I bet this whole project is going to be a lot of fun for George. It's a Western noir thriller too, which is something different for him.

 

If George wants to do something different, he should spend a few hours working on Winds of Winter. He probably hasn't done that for years.

 

Actually he has been working on it constantly.

 

Bit of news on Lena Headey who played Cersei. She has a new HBO series, "The White House Plumbers." The story is about those involved in the Watergate break-in. She plays the wife of Howard Hunt. And that role is going to be filled by Woody Harrelson. I'm pretty excited about this one due to the casting.

 

Spoiler(?) : Watergate ceiling falls on her head.

 

I don't think they'd want to be accused of stealing D&D's brilliant ending.

 

House of the Dragon update. Filming is believed to have been mostly indoors the past few months. This is the first time an outdoors set was seen. They believe this is the War for the Stepstones, with filming taking places on beaches in Cornwall, England.

The first teaser has dropped. Like the look of the Iron Throne which is more in line with Martin's version that the one we saw in the original series.

The rumor is that the premiere of House of the Dragon will be Sunday April 17th.

Peter Dinklage has been saying some really ridiculous things lately. I've lost respect for the guy. He's attacked fans for not liking the GOT finale and now he seems jealous of the upcoming House of the Dragon series. Not sure what's going on with him these days, but he's obviously not in a good place.

 

Latest on The House of the Dragon is that there have been some post production delays due to the pandemic. So we're looking at the second half of 2022. Martin has said he's seen the rough cut of the first episode and that he really liked it. He called it "dark, powerful and visceral."

 

So we wait on another Martin project……

 

Martins new project: Isle of the Wights. Arya sails west, lands on Manhattan ,full of walking dead.

 

What gets me about Martin is that he's angry that people keep asking about Winds of Winter. He said in a recent interview that it's "wearisome." Well it's been 10 years pal and you keep saying in blogs that you got a lot done. The book should be about 20,000 pages by now.

He should just say that he's stuck or he's needed to re-write things etc. Admit this isn't normal and I think people would respect it a lot more. But the whole pretense he's created is laughable at this stage.

 

I am hoping House of Dragon tanks badly. If that were to happen, perhaps it would shock Martin into motivation to finish Song of Ice and Fire books. If it does well, he will continue new projects instead.
