Our shutters are easy to access if need be. We decided to wait until Wednesdays update.
That is when we will get our gas and extra supplies.
We ran the generator this morning, just to make sure it's still operational.
We aren't in a flood zone and the canal behind us is really low right now. Our pool will be dumped after the first band hits, should it come our way.
The only thing we have not discussed is leaving. That is not an option for us.

I get the not leaving. I knew I should leave my house yesterday to go to a cooling station, but I just flopped around like a half-dead thing. And that was my decision over going without my creature comforts for less than 24 hours.

Still, for a hurricane, I would leave for a recommended evacuation. I think.

We did leave when Francis hit(a cat 2). It was recommended. We had to go to S. Carolina. Beautiful place. After Francis hit Florida, she went up the coast and hit Charleston. 6 people, a dog, and 2 cats had to hunker down in a hotel room.
And my sister and her family of 13 were divided between 2 rooms.

We stayed when Jeanne, a cat 3 hit 3 weeks later.
    We will prepare.

Oh, good. Wow, though, that is a big production.

Irma may not even ht the US at all. Here's hoping.

That's still 6 people and 3 pets for your side of the family. That's a lot of energy cooped up in hotel space!

No place to go. No one to stay with. No extra cash right now.
    We should be ok. Hopefully

Irma now has winds of 175mph - cat 5. Extremely dangerous storm.

@Sharpie61 - will they open shelters near you?

As of yet, no. I'm just below Kennedy space center.

The keys are under evacuation. And recommend evacuation for Miami.
Plans changed. We are boarding up today.

OH @Sharpie61 and @zombiemom62 I will be thinking of you both in the coming days. I know that your focus will be on the events surrounding you but if you are able to send us word every now and again how you are holding up please do so. In the meantime know that your virtual TWD family has both of you, your families and fur babies in our thoughts and our hearts

I think Harvey was Irma's little brother:eek: This one is bad for Florida no matter how it plays out.
