"Get Out" was a great movie. "Us" isn't. It starts off well but 1/4 of the way in starts going downhill, and by the half-way point I would have been fine leaving. It starts out with a young girl meeting her double in a funhouse - so far, so good. Then after a bunch of time it turns out *everyone* has a double, and they've all been living in underground tunnels built by the government and apparently eating raw rabbits. How much food would it take to grow rabbits to feed doubles of the whole population? Probably a lot. Was there any evidence that this was possible to pull off? No. Was there any explanation why the government after discontinuing the experiment 20 years ago would continue covertly feeding millions of people underground for 20 years? No.

The movie started to go downhill when the friends of their families had their own doubles show up. The initial plot seemed to be that *this woman* had a double, and her family did which again is fine as they were related to her. With the addition of these total outsiders having doubles the whole plot changed. Why? Everybody? At some point you just can't sustain a suspension of disbelief.

LOL, the other thing was she was talking about how all these coincidences started happening since they went back to the beach where she was traumatized as a child. So far so good, standard horror show foreshadowing. Then with the plot change of everyone having doubles? What possible connection was there to a bunch of coincidences that affected her personally? None. This movie seemed to have a half a dozen different plots, none of which meshed with the others, and overall was disappointing.

Rather than watch this movie, go out and rent "Get Out" again. It'll be a much better use of your time.
