Alpha is MVP of The Calm Before

    Dislike the character and what she means to our communities all you want but at the end of the day I cannot remember TWD having a more interesting antagonist EVAH (in my best Alpha voice). Frankly I cannot think of a protagonist who has been as interesting as Alpha. And Alpha/Samantha Morton was at her scariest, creepiest, most chilling this episode.

    Alpha as written in the comics had all the makings of simply being a caricature brought over to TV. Instead someone was smart enough to think outside of the box and hire Samantha Morton to take on the task of elevating Alpha beyond the parody that was waiting to happen

    We will see if, in July when Emmy nominations are handed out, Samantha's peers agree with me. Looks like some already do!

    She is doing a great job, indeed. I don't feel the Whisperers fit as something that would be realistic in that universe, but she is making them into a real enough threat.

    I love Alpha, I could either go live in her camp with her people or co-exist on some similar plane.
