S03E13 Black,Lotus, White Rose

Black Lotus takes Sunny back to Razor Ridge as a prisoner. Surprise of surprises, who does he meet? His sister, Kannin.
She’s been living with Magnus and Black Lotus all this time. She takes him back in his memory so he can see his history growing up in Azra. Magnus wants to use Sunny to destroy Pilgrim and wants him to join with them. Magnus displays a marked prejudice against the “dark eyed ones” as he claims they destroyed the old world. Kanin has really been Magnus’s prisoner and she’s suffering from some sort of Stockholm syndrome. She tells Sunny she can unlock his gift but they have to go slowly.

Back at the safe house, Ankara isn’t quite as dead as she let on, but close. Her dying act is to bring Bajie back to life, and then she expires. Bajie takes off to rescue Sunny. He breaks into the BL fortress, captures Magnus, finds Sunny but he won’t go without Kanin. She appears and Sunny tells Bajie to let Magnus go. He puts our two comrades in special chains. Like all villains, he monologues about how he’s going to use Sunny to destroy everything. The sister will give him back his powers and she will control him to do Magnus bidding. Big sis decides she has other ideas. She breaks Sunny free and big battle ensues. Oh, I will miss these battle scenes. Of course, the trio escape and Magnus is maybe killed.

At the monestary, the Master has one more trick up her sleeve. While Pilgrim welcomes the acolytes who have been waken, the Master summons her gift and tries one final time to try to kill him as he’s in a weaken state now. She almost has him but MK sneaks up behind her and mortally wounds her. Pilgrim gives MK a promotion as his personal body guard/second in command.

Miranda sends Gauis to his sisters troops to claim them for the war with Nix to accompany him. He brings her head as proof. She tells him she’s going to the monastery. She finds the Master dying and helps her in her passing. The Masters final words to her are to create a world with no masters and to strike while Pilgrim is weak.

It ends with a montage of scenes while The Sound of Silence plays in the back ground. Beautiful.

S03E14 Curse of the Red Rain

Cressida visits Lydia and Moon at the Widow’s compound. Nix makes an appearance and so does the Widow. They put Cressida in the nice holding cell. Big mistake.

Sunny, Kannin and Bajie reach the now burned monastery. They see that the sleepers have been awaken. Kannin tells them that Pilgrim isn’t their only problem as Black Lotus will be sending men after them. They take off through the countryside and Bajie tells Sunny he doesn’t trust Kannin. Of course, Sunny defends her. They end up at the coast. Kannin has been playing baby bro. When he asks her where they are she tells him they’re where they need to be. Kannin says they need to escape but Henry will not leave his son. Sunny wants her to unlock his gift but she won’t do it. Bajie and Sunny take off after Bajie dresses him down first.

The Widow talks with Lydia about strategy to defeat Pilgrim while she holds Sunny’s baby. Miranda tells Lydia that after the battle she’ll hand control over to her because she admires her ability to mange love and the people. Then she goes to visit Cressida who tells her she’s preggers! Looks like Gauis and she were getting busy! The witch tells her to give up the fight or her unborn baby will die. Miranda doesn’t bite but it messes with her head a little.

Pilgrim gets his sleepers ready to attack. The Widow’s people are preparing too.They’re a little apprehensive cause it’s dark ones but Lydia calms Moon down by telling him they may realize their dreams of ruling together. TW sends Nix and Tilda off to scout Pilgrim’s whereabouts. The Widow speaks with Gauis and is a bit cold to him. He asks her what’s wrong but she doesn’t spill. She later tells him to stay alive.

Left to her own devices, Cressida casts a spell which causes the heavens to rain blood on everything causing panic and anger, not to mention spoiling things like food etc. Lydia confronts the witch who tries to get Lydia on her side. Lydia shuts her down and sends her to the brig.

The dark ones reach the Widow’s compound ...by bus no less, lol but they’re all business. It seems abandoned but traps have been set. A good pre fight ensues. Many dark ones are killed. MK gets badly burned. The survivors attack. Orders are given to move the people out and to kill Cressida. Lydia is given the job. Down in the brig, Cressida calls forth some power of her own, her eyes turn red and the two fight. She ends up mortally wounding Lydia!!! Then she escapes. More fighting. Gauis and Moon are pitted against the dark ones but escape. Moon finds Lydia dying in the cell. So very sad. She professes her love for him once again, kisses him and dies.

S03E15 Requiem for the Fallen

We open with the Widows compound in ruins. Pilgrim shows up in the big house and while the Widow gets the survivors to safety, Nix battles Pilgrim...for Castor. Unfortunately, Pilgrim prevails and kills Nix.

At the refugee camp they bury Lydia. Moon is distraught. The medicine woman in camp confirms Miranda’s pregnancy. Later she tells Gauis about the baby. He’s ecstatic but she’s conflicted. Can she be a mother and a warrior? What kind of world will the baby grow up in? She tells him the decision to abort Is up to her, not them.

Bajie and Sunny reach the widow’s compound and see they’ve missed the battle. They find Nix and think the worse but finding no more bodies realize there must be survivors. They find the camp and Sunny is reunited with his son! He reconciles with the Widow but she seems reluctant to fight on probably due to her pregnancy. Our leaders make a plan. The Widow wants to flee the badlands. Moon wants revenge. They decide that the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and decide to enlist the Black Lotus’s help.

Back at the Meridian Chamber, repairs have been completed and it’s back on line. JK is alive but suffering from his battle injuries. He’s been trying to heal his burns unsuccessfully. Pilgrim gets him back on his feet with a pep talk. Be proud of what you have become he tells MK. Then guess who comes to visit? Kannin shows up to talk to Pilgrim. She confronts him about his plans. She tell him that their Azra ancestors were planning to kill anyone without the “gift”. That sparks Pilgrims interest. Pilgrim shows her the Meridian Chamber. She tells Pilgrim that the chamber was not a temple but a laboratory where man in his arrogance tried to tame nature but it turned on them. Sounds like the gift was some sort of mutation. The two fight. Pilgrim wins and uses the chamber to take her gift. He tells her to go find Sanzo and tell him they can not beat him.

In the meantime before battle stage is reached......
MK is resolved to keep going on. Not everyone gets a happy ending he tells Eli.
Tilda meets her old girlfriend in the camp who now has another lover. Oops. She wants to fight alongside Tilda but Tilda tells her to take the people out of the Badlands to safety because she and her new lover deserve happiness.
Cressida has a vision that Pilgrim will kill her.
Gauis decides to join Bajie and Sunny to search out the Black Lotus to fight for a new world his child can grow up in.
Moon advises Lydia to abort because it will hurt less now than to lose the child a few years down the line.
Pilgrim senses a change in Cressida when he kisses her. He tastes her fear.
Kannin reaches the camp looking for Sunny. Miranda tells her he’s already left.

On the journey to find BL, Gauis talks about becoming a father with Sunny. Why are you asking him, Bajjie asks, I’m the one who does all the heavy lifting with that little guy. Lol They reach an outpost and talk briefly about the old world. We get a final confirmation that the Bad Lands is actually a futuristic USA. I always suspected it but wasn’t sure I was right. Magnus gets wind of it. He takes off to meet them and does, but is not agreeable to joining them. A fight ensues, Kannin shows up to help. Magnus is killed and the BL pledges their alliegence to our fighters. Love Bajie and the Nunchucks!
