I was so shocked. I believe she just celebrated her 97th birthday. I loved those old rom coms with Rock Hudson and I know she was a passionate animal rights activist. RIP

We also lost Peggy Lipton from Mod Squad and Twin Peaks over the weekend. She was 72.

Oh my, everyone from Twin Peaks is dying after they made the third season. I didn't guess Peggy would be one of them. She will be missed at the Double R Diner

Yes. These can be quite serious if not treated promptly. They can land you in the hospital. My brother's organs tried to shut down when he was sick and developed a urinary tract infection.

I do that as well when I feel one coming on. Some people do not know what they are if they've never had one, they don't know the symptoms.

They figured out the mechanism by which cranberry juice works. It creates a thin slippery film that bacteria cannot grab on to, and thus they flush out.

So when I detected the initial development of thrush from my asthma medicine, I thought, hmmm, cranberry juice? I started holding a small mouthful of cranberry juice in my mouth, resting my tongue in it every morning before using my inhaler. IT WORKED. Now, I do that every time before using my inhaler and I've never had any more trouble.

I am a big advocate of taking a small mouthful of cranberry juice proactively every day to fend off anything that might want to get me.

Trader Joe's has 100 percent cranberry juice. It is insanely sour. I mix it with their next cranberry option that is least adulterated with anything else. This makes me wind up with 3 glass bottles of cranberry juice in my fridge, which takes up a lot of room, but I feel so contented at the beginning when I have 3 full bottles of my precious concoction awaiting me. (Each mixing cycle, I recycle the oldest bottle, replacing it with the newest 100% cranberry glass bottle.)

I got to see him live once in an ensemble fronted by none other than Ringo Star. Was a crazy story that got me to that show but it was better than I ever expected.

Former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens passed away on July 16th. He served 35 years and used his vote to pass both conservative and liberal decisions.
