I'm not even reading the conversation, and I can still tell you EXACTLY how it went there.

1.) I was stunned that an EDUCATOR was averse to THE FACTS of WWI.
2.) Morgotha created a strawman argument that some things are debatable.

As to your comment: the teacher should have stated that some folks believes that the holocaust didn’t happen. This way it would have given the class the right to choose. And possibly investigate on their own.

WTF?? Just show them ghastly footage of Allied troops rolling into death camps. Give them nightmares before giving them the "right" to ignore facts.

Yep. I put forth the proposition that Franz Ferdinand committed suicide to protest German militarism, and had it covered up by Sarajevo patriots leading to the War. Good thing you caught me.

    Another crooked college professor.

    "
Harvard University has fired a fencing coach over the sale of his home for nearly double its assessed value to a wealthy businessman whose teenage son was later admitted to the school and joined the team.

Athletic Director Bob Scalise said in an emailed statement Tuesday that head fencing coach Peter Brand has been fired for violating Harvard's conflict-of-interest policy.

The Boston Globe reported in April that Brand received nearly $1 million in 2016 for his suburban Boston three-bedroom house, which was assessed at the time at about $550,000.

The buyer, Jie Zhao, never lived in the home and sold it at a steep loss 17 months later. Both men deny wrongdoing."

50+ people just decided to loot a Walgreens in Philly. Video with article.

    "
A cashier was hit in the head with a glass bottle when he tried to intervene, WPVI reported.

"About 60 juveniles walked into the establishment and began removing things from the shelves, destroying property inside the store,” Philadelphia Police Captain Sekou Kinebrew told the television station. “The cashier attempted to intervene and some heavy item - I believe it was a bottle - was thrown at him, striking him in the head."

Kinebrew added that the value of the stolen merchandise and the damage to the store totaled between $6,000 and $7,000.

Illegal? Under 25? Go to California and get on Medicaid. It's now the law.

    "
California has become the first state to offer taxpayer-funded health benefits to young adults living in the country illegally.

Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law on Tuesday that makes low-income adults age 25 and younger eligible for the state's Medicaid program regardless of their immigration status.

State officials expect the plan to cover about 90,000 people and cost taxpayers $98 million. California already covers children ages 18 and younger regardless of immigration status."

On the plus side, in addition to practicing conservation yourself, you'll be encouraging canine recycling. That's very green of you!

This woman got tired of waiting at the DMV and started shooting up the place. Meh, it happens. What is REALLY interesting is the height chart. She's 6'8"! (Unless those are centimeters, it which case she's a very stout hobbit of less than three feet.)

Also, she was apparently yelling during all this (of course) and at one point said, "the President's security is in danger", so she's probably a bit off her rocker.

Great, get ready to live through a real-life version of John Carpenter's The Thing:

    https://nationalpost.com/news/world/ancient-life-awakens-amid-thawing-ice-caps-and-permafrost

"As usual, the researchers were seeking singled-celled organisms, the only life-forms thought to be viable after millennia locked in the permafrost. They placed the frozen material on petri dishes in their room-temperature lab and noticed something strange. Hulking among the puny bacteria and amoebae were long, segmented worms complete with a head at one end and anus at the other – nematodes.

“Of course we were surprised and very excited,” Vishnivetskaya said. Clocking in at a half-millimeter long, the nematodes that wriggled back to life were the most complex creatures Vishnivetskaya — or anyone else – had ever revived after a lengthy deep freeze.

She estimated one nematode to be 41,000 years old – by far the oldest living animal ever discovered. This very worm dwelled in the soil beneath Neanderthals’ feet and had lived to meet modern-day humans in Vishnivetskaya’s high-tech laboratory."

    *Sigh*

    Florida:

    https://reason.com/2019/07/11/flori...r-planting-drugs-on-innocent-people/#comments

"The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) announced yesterday that, following a months-long investigation, former Jackson County sheriff's deputy Zach Wester had been arrested and charged with 52 felony crimes, including racketeering, false imprisonment, fabricating evidence, and drug possession."

One guy that he framed with planted evidence lost custody of his child because of it.
