I'm liberal and I say the pledge when appropriate minus "under God" which was an add on. Lol. That's just me though. However, I can't imagine why you would need to recite it before a city council meeting, but whatever.

I said the pledge in grade school. Haven't said it since. It isn't an official thing like the national anthem. Did you know it's only been regularly said since the 1940s? And the 'under god' was added in the 1950s.

I text this pic to my sister, as she worked with the elderly in a nursing home. She said it looks like a fall wound, as he has "road rash" on his forearm.

^^From the US Equal Opportunity Commission website. So, claims that this isn't racist don't hold up.

I know some civic organizations like the Rotary Club recite this as well. It's actually a fairly sobering thing, and seems useful to me as a way to remind people they are no longer doing their own business, but are now performing the business of their town (or whatever).

I wouldn't say it's *necessary*, but think doing so is a good thing rather than a bad thing.

Kellyanne rails against those who 'support Democrats':

    https://www.rawstory.com/2019/07/ke...people-in-this-country-who-support-democrats/

"When asked by host Bill Hemmer whether it was wise for the president to launch attacks against the lawmakers at a time when he could be touting a positive economic message, Conway replied that he should be talking about them because “we’re sick and tired of many people in this country” who are being represented by Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (R-MI).

“They represent a dark underbelly in this country of people who are not respecting our troops, are not giving them the resources and respect that they deserve,” she fumed. “We’re tired of people not kneeling for the flag out of disrespect. We’re tired of some of these women palling around with terrorists!”"

Hmmm, sounds like she doesn't like America. Maybe she should leave?

Also, every word of her rant is anti-American and mostly untrue. She states clearly that their 'sick and tired' of people who didn't vote for them and voted for people who oppose them. Democrats are the 'dark underbelly'?

Also, aren't they tired of people kneeling for the flag? Not that that was what was really going on, people were kneeling for the National Anthem. Now Kelly thinks everyone has to kneel for the flag?

And NONE of 'those women' palled around with terrorists.

AOC et. al. are already back to fighting with Pelosi. What a sense of entitlement! They've only been in Congress 6 months and think that Pelosi should come to them? Saying their flunkies were communicating instead of reaching out personally? It's embarrassing. LOL, I also like Tlaib's warning to Pelosi that they are "women of color". What else can she use as leverage over Pelosi? She hasn't actually *done* anything, and if anyone compares her record with Pelosi's she'd be laughed out of the room. LOL! It's just so ironic that being a woman in Congress -- and the Speaker of the House -- just isn't good enough anymore.:(o_O

    "
King asked the congresswomen if they've been in contact with Pelosi.

"Our teams are in communication," Ocasio-Cortez responded.

"But shouldn't you be meeting face-to-face?" King asked.

"She's the new member, not the speaker," Tlaib interjected. "She has every right to sit down with her at any moment, any time with any of us. She is Speaker of the House. She can ask for a meeting to sit down with us for clarification."

Tlaib continued, "Acknowledge the fact that we are women of color, so when you do single us out, be aware of that and what you're doing, especially because some of us are getting death threats, because some of us are being singled out because of our backgrounds, because of our experiences and so forth.""

She's calling the Deplorables. It didn't work for Hillary, so it's probably not wise.

The House voted along party lines to condemn Trump for saying "go back to your own country and fix it" as racist.

    "
WASHINGTON — The House voted on Tuesday to condemn as racist President Trump’s attacks against four congresswomen of color, but only after the debate over the president’s language devolved into a bitterly partisan brawl that showcased deep rifts over race, ethnicity and political ideology in the age of Trump.

The measure, the first House rebuke of a president in more than 100 years, passed nearly along party lines, 240 to 187, after one of the most polarizing exchanges on the floor in recent times. Only four Republicans and the House’s lone independent, Representative Justin Amash of Michigan, voted with all Democrats to condemn the president.

There was also the whole Comey thing in October that was a real mess, a perfect storm of bad events.

Yeah I don't really care what people do. The whole pledge seems kind of weird and robotic, but it's up to inviduals. If collectively they want to do it, fine. It it's the opposite, that's fine too.

The whole thing really bothers me. They want to be able to criticize Pelosi, Democratic leadership, the congressional black caucus and, everyone really. But we aren't allowed to be critical of them or we're trying to stifle women of color. That's a healthy way to have a debate. These people though, along with Sanders and the socialists are trying to destroy the Democratic party, hijack it and reshape it for themselves. It's extremely bad and they need to be strongly confronted and defeated.

Are we watching the same video clip? At 11 seconds there's a scene of Trump ogling a woman who is dancing and rubbing her breasts against him. I'd bet most men would do *something* in that situation, although maybe not the evil leer. I don't see him grabbing any women though, if that was a different link please post it. It seems like a typical celebrity scene to me.

I agree with that one guy. Trumps base will just shrug and say it was in the past. UNLESS, something shows up from the last 5 years. And I think it would have to be with a child. Then maybe some of the evangelicals will speak out against him.

    The truth is out there
