How does any of this rhetoric about COVID pertain to the article? The two aren't even remotely similar.

I did note this from the article:

Will Francis, executive director of the Texas chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, called it “incredibly disheartening.”
He also criticized board members for removing the nondiscrimination protections without input from the social workers they license and oversee.
“Rules can always cover more ground as long they don’t contradict the law, which these protections did not,” he said.

An example perhaps of politicos who think they know more about a subject than the professionals who work in the area.
Not to mention a good way to subvert the civil rights of groups that don’t meet the “approval” of said politicos. Good reason to work towards flipping Texas blue.

This was cute. At the WH's Halloween trick or treat a couple of kids came dressed up as the Trumps:

Those kids are cute. The monsters in the background are pretty frightening too.

ACB has been confirmed to the Supreme Court. I liked her acceptance speech where she said it wasn't the job of a judge to push policy goals. I'm sure she'll do a great job on the court. Yea for America!:):):)

    "
Judge Amy Coney Barrett, fresh off her confirmation to serve as an associate justice on the nation's highest court, took her constitutional oath on Monday at the White House.

The Supreme Court said in a press release that Barrett will be able to start her new role after Chief Justice John Roberts administers her judicial oath on Tuesday. Justice Clarence Thomas administered the constitutional oath at Monday's ceremony.

Thomas has long been considered one of the more conservative justices on the court, along with Barrett's mentor, the late Justice Antonin Scalia. Echoing her mentor, Barrett underscored the need for a separation of powers between the judicial and legislative branches.

"It is the job of a senator to pursue her policy preferences," Barrett said to an audience on the South Lawn of the White House. "In fact, it would be a dereliction of duty for her to put policy goals aside. By contrast, it is the job of a judge to resist her policy preferences. It would be a dereliction of duty for her to give into them. Federal judges don't stand for election. Thus, they have no basis for claiming that their preferences reflect those of the people.""

Chief Justice Roberts swore in ACB today, so she's officially "in" now. Good work, ACB.

Also, way to go Catholic church, who now has basically 7 of 9 members on the Supreme Court (I'm counting Gorsuch as well who was raised a Caholic although currently lists himself as Episcopalian).

    "
Judge Amy Coney Barrett officially became Justice Barrett following a private ceremony in the Supreme Court's East Conference Room Tuesday morning.

Chief Justice John Roberts administered the Judicial Oath to Barrett, officially making her the court's 103rd Associate Justice.

"Upon administration of that oath, she will be able to begin to participate in the work of the Court," the Supreme Court said in a press release, adding that a "formal investiture ceremony will take place at a special sitting of the Court in the Courtroom at a later date.""

Trump claims the courts will prevent ballots being counted after November 3rd.

    https://twitter.com/therecount/status/1321520329680932867

Polling places are open until 8pm in many places. And what he said was NOT the decision related to Wisconsin. The Wisconsin decision was for when votes were RECEIVED, not when they're counted.

It also helps that Trump's stooge at the postal service has slowed down mail delivery in Wisconsin and other states by as much as a week.

If our glorious Dear Leader says that the pandemic is over than it is. No one is stronger or smarter. We should listen to him and not the scientists.

Speaking of the Prince of Pestilence, their Bund Rallies, now have this bizarre Orwellian video they play before he appears on stage.
