That was pretty bad. Not as dumb as the FTWD episode, but maybe just as boring. Not a good evening for AMC.

 

Agreed, this is the first Sunday so far that I've felt the World Beyond episode was a bit better than the FTWD S6 episode. But both were nothing to write home about. There are two things that kind of keep me interested in this show. One: The Civic Republic angle, and two, the fact that they are going to New York. As I live in NY, I would be kind of stoked to find out the TWD universe ended up landing in a fictionalized version of my hometown, or somewhere quite close by.

 

God this episode was awful. A good portion of this episode was about annoying teenagers flirting with each other in a high school building.

I'm really thinking now that the whole Walking Dead universe concept needs to be cancelled and AMC needs to focus on new IP's as I have no faith anymore that they can create good original Walking Dead programming.

I am pretty sure that the new shows they will start up in the next couple years won't be any better than this and the last couple seasons of Fear.

 

I've gotten into the routine now of checking here before watching the World Beyond episodes. And this week's reactions are the best so far:

1. I can't keep my eyes open.
2. I've lost interest so I'm shopping on eBay
3. Not as dumb as Fear, but maybe just as boring.
4. I'm just watching now to see if the location they use is my hometown
5. Thinking the whole TWD concept should be canceled.

You can scratch #5 and count it as morphed humping of the up and coming Last of Us tv-show. But yeah, unless you're really curious to know (maybe) something about the group that took Rick, better stay away from this. It's not "that" bad, far above the level FTWD sunk to at some points, but it's - as of now - not interesting in the least.

 

I actually think Fear is far better than this show. It at least has a few characters that are somewhat interesting to follow even if its stories are pretty dull as well. By the way though if someone isn't interested in watching something just because it has Walking Dead in the title the best advice for them probably would be to just watch season 11 of TWD and then forget about zombie apocalypse programming until Last of Us comes out. AMC chose quantity over quality with this franchise long ago and they clearly aren't investing the dollars into these spinoff shows for them to even have a chance to have real riveting viewing.

 

I agree that overall, FTWD is a better show. This season, apart from that last terrible episode, it was way better that Beyond, but Fear sunk at lows in 4B and 5 that were of Z Nation levels.

 

Wow, that was bad. I think that Fear is much better than Beyond. This one is a waste of air space. Bad.. . . and yes, I'll be there for the next episode. . Hoping lol
