Some times you just want to go to the restroom in peace.

"A video showed Lisa Smurro telling the server: "There's a man p****** in the bathroom. She's a man. There's a man in the woman's bathroom.

"It's not right. It's not right. She's a man. In my bathroom."

As she continued to complain, a diner off-camera called out: "You're being inappropriate. Take your hate elsewhere."

Michael Smurro was then seen walking up alongside his wife with a beer in hand and throwing it at another person off-camera, saying: "There you go."

The couple walked away, with Michael Smurro gesturing and saying: "Come on."

Christian Fuscarino, executive director of the LGBT advocacy group Garden State Equality, told ABC10: "This is absolutely transphobia. The law against discrimination in New Jersey protects those with gender identity to use the restroom with the gender they identify.""

Why "in peace"? Are they bothering you? Trying to rape you? Everyone has to pee. Lol

And why can't he pee in the men's room? Is someone trying to rape him? Bother him? People going to the bathroom in public according to their biological gender worked just fine, what's with the sudden need to disrupt society's standards?

Why even have bathrooms enclosed? Just have the toilets out in the open, everyone has to go, so what's the big deal?

For that matter, I wonder when public nudity will become a thing, or people having sex in public - the same thing will be said when people oppose either of those, too, "what's it to you"? Eh, maybe they're right, what does it matter at the end of the day? For me, though, it's one more thing I'd rather not deal with.

P.s. Before you say, "oh there's no WAY those ridiculous ideas would be suggested", if you had asked someone in 1980 if men should be allowed to call themselves women and use the women's restroom, they would have laughed at you - yet here we are.

And yet another reason to have the death penalty. This "young man" saw two women, a mother and her daughter, followed them home, waited for them to go to sleep, then broke in to their house and stabbed them to death. Total strangers.

    "
A Florida teenager killed two women after following them home and crawling through their window while they slept, a report said.

The alleged double murder in Largo Monday night appears to have been a random attack that started when the killer saw the women in public, police said, according to local station FOX 8.

Sage Curry, 19, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and burglary, according to the report. The victims were not identified, but neighbors told the station a mother and daughter lived together in the home."

Either that or she has read a newspaper or watched t.v. at least once in the past decade and knew what language she was expected to use.

Again, Pep, if when I was in college someone was going around saying men should be able to use the women's room? People wouldn't have given them the time of day, or what's more likely, would have looked at them like they were some kind of pervert. Now? Somehow men using the women's room is supposed to be what's *normal* and commonly accepted, and you're some kind of bigot for disagreeing.

You might be mentally flexible enough to change your beliefs like that and believe that it's always been like this, but not everyone accepts social change so easily.

Instead of telling Mo that she is saying absurd things, why don't you address some of the questions she's raised? You should have no problem presenting her with a more logical counterpoint. Right?

Sure, I guess you're right when you say that "everyone has to pee", but my problem with your point of view, is you're making it sound like it's so harmless and innocent for a man to go into a woman's private space.

I'm actually rather surprised that you, a woman, would be so cavalier about something like this. A woman's restroom is a personal space for women!

Especially when I know for a fact that you'd be singing a different tune if a man were to encroach on your personal space and it actually had a negative impact on you.

    Well, this is rather interesting.

Actually, if you’re biologically born male but identify as female and are in some sort of transition, the women’s bathroom is the place to be, provided there are no uni-sex single seat loos available. Unlike the men’s room where the urinals are out in the open every toilet is enclosed in the women’s room cause we like privacy. If the guy is dressed like a woman, maybe even has breasts but still has the original equipment downstairs how comfortable will the men be having this person in their restroom?

I don’t attempt to look to see who’s in the stall next to me. Maybe you see some feet but if I can’t see them they probably can’t see me. What I do find disturbing is when mothers take their 4-6 yr. old sons into the women’s room. I get it’s a safety issue but arrangements should be made to shop with someone else who can watch them while they use the facilities. They’re the ones who are looking under the stall walls cause kids are curious and that’s what they do. I’ve always felt that makes you a side show plus if the kid sees something he’s too young to understand, like someone removing a bloody tampon, that’s on mom.

Oh, I hope I don’t shock you, but public nudity can be a thing. What used to be referred to as nudist colonies, and nude beaches all over the world, even in the good ‘ole USA, have existed for decades.

I was thinking about this when I was walking down the hall, so... a lot of thought went in to this:D. Anyway, I do think a bit of it has to do with fear for me. If a woman who wants to be a man goes in to a men's room, the men in there likely outweigh her by 50 pounds, and if she gets upset at something and acts violently they could just punch her or shove her out of the way. Men don't have to really worry about what a transgender person might do. It's different for us though. If a man comes in to a women's room and gets aggressive, he could slam you around in a small room and you don't have a good way to get away from him.

Do I expect to get attacked by some transgender person? No. I guess there are just so many places you have to be walking around with your guard up I'd like at least ONE place I could go in public and not have to be keeping my eyes and ears open for danger.

On the nudist beaches, sure they've been there, but they are well demarcated and you can avoid them if you wish, it's not like some hobo walking in to the market without his pants on.

I get it but let’s look at your example. A transgender female (even a male) will look for the private unisex single seater bathroom first, I hope. If that’s unavailable, if there’s no penis they can’t use the urinal so they’ll use the one or two stalls usually there and I imagine everyone will think the person therein is taking a dump. I just don’t think it’s that big a deal. Is fighting in the restroom even a thing, although I’ve been tempted to bitch slap anyone who exits a stall, fixes their hair or make up, and exits without washing their hands.

Then this shouldn’t have been a shock to her. She can disagree with it but to act like she would have never thought it possible is ridiculous. Just like you have an opinion on the matter but you would never act like this came out of the blue if you encountered it. Her argument is that “SHE” is a man. The woman’s counterpoint would have likely been. “No I’m not.” “I peed in a stall, not on you. I didn’t open your stall door and I didn’t whip it out in the sink.” In some countries in Europe they have unisex bathrooms without urinals, just stalls and their is no issue with a mass surge of bathroom rapes. The complaint wasn’t that this woman was entering her stall or exposing herself. Her argument was that this woman didn’t conform with this lady’s idea of what constitutes a woman. She has every right to feel uncomfortable with the situation. However the business has its right to allow what it feels is a woman into its women’s restroom.

I think you hit the nail on the head with her being dressed as a woman as opposed to a man. In the women’s room, other women may feel uncomfortable but in the mens room, she may be harassed or even assaulted. On the flip side, i dont think men would have as uncomfortable a reaction if a “woman” dressed as a man entered the mens room. There is no easy answer to this question but it’s something that we are going to have to address as transgender people are hiding it less and less.

This is probably the most disturbing thing you'll read today.

    "
German police said Monday they had shut down "one of the biggest darknet child pornography platforms in the world" and arrested four of its members in a series of raids in mid-April.

The platform, named as "Boystown", had existed since 2019, counted over 400,000 members and was "set up for the worldwide exchange of child pornography, in particular images of the abuse of boys", federal police said in a statement. "

*400,000* people are paying to view this site, and it is only one site of probably many. And the German government considers it a success that they were able to arrest FOUR people! That's not what I'd call a success.

Oh, and the US has about 5% of the world's population, so that means that likely 20,000 of those members are in the US. LOL, who am I kidding, most of the people in the world couldn't afford to pay a monthly subscription to some porn site, it's probably 50-100 thousand of those members being from the US, which is enough to have 1000-2000 for each state, which does NOT make me feel safe. What's wrong with people?

Right, and if the woman said, "I think I'm a raccoon" and the other woman said, "there's a man in the bathroom saying he's a raccoon" and later she told him "you're a man, not a raccoon" and the "raccoon"'s counterpoint was "no I'm not".

Would you say the man *really was* a raccoon because he thought he was? I doubt it. You'd most likely say he was nuts and needed counseling. The difference between the woman and the raccoon being...

And I'm sure there are a *few* places around that have mix gender bathrooms with multiple stalls in them, but I'd also bet that's by far the minority of restrooms. I'd bet the vast majority of bathrooms in Europe, like the US, are either single gender multiple stalls, or ONE toilet restrooms which may be either single or multigender.

And the woman's complaint was NOT that the woman didn't conform to her idea of what a woman was, her complaint was that there was a man in the women's restroom.

So in NYC they arrested some racist nut who was going around breaking out the windows of synagogues in NYC, and was doing so for 11 days before getting caught. He was in jail overnight, and is now released from jail given NY's "let the criminals out without bail" law. Hard to believe, but that's what the country's like these days.

"A Bronx judge on Sunday night ordered the alleged Riverdale synagogue vandal be cut loose on supervised release — reversing an earlier decision by a separate jurist to hold the suspect on $20,000 bail.

The suspect, 29-year-old Jordan Burnette, was granted supervised release by Judge Tara Collins in Bronx Criminal Court — hours after he was ordered held on bail on 42 charges stemming from his alleged 11-day crime spree, Patrice O’Shaughnessy, a spokeswoman for the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, said.

Under New York State law, a suspect hit with Burnette’s charges cannot be held on bail.

But that didn’t stop Judge Louis Nock, who earlier Sunday ordered Burnette be held in lieu of $20,000 — even though prosecutors insisted the man had to be sprung under the state’s controversial bail-reform laws.

"Given the number of attacks, we probably would have asked for substantial bail before January of 2020," Assistant District Attorney Theresa Gottlieb told Judge Louis Nock earlier Sunday.

"The legislature did not include hate crimes in its revision of bail reform and, under the law as it exists today, this is not eligible," she added. "We will not violate the law.""

Who'd have thought the US should start following Switzerland's lead?

"The city of Basel in Switzerland has offered its homeless community a free one-way ticket to any other European destination if they agree to sign a contract vowing never to return.

A Basel Department of Justice spokesperson, told local newspaper 20 Minutes that homeless individuals in the city can request a travel voucher and 20 Swiss Francs—USD$21.90. In return, the individuals must sign a contract vowing not to return to the country for a specified period of time.

The official told the outlet any individuals caught violating the contract could face deportation.

"Beneficiaries must undertake in writing not to return to Switzerland—at least for a certain period of time. If they are checked again, they risk expulsion from our country," Yergu said."

There are surgeries that can change your gender. There are no surgeries to change species. If she really thought she was a raccoon, she wouldn’t have said “No im not”. She would have said chhiiitt iiitt chhi cooo coo cherr cucucu confirming that she was in fact a raccoon. While not all restrooms are unisex, my point was that not everyone feels restrooms need to be gender specific. That would make transgender persons identification moot. Respecting EVERYONES privacy while in restroom is not gender specific. There was nothing in the article to indicate that the Karen’s privacy was infringed. The transgender person however just got called out to the entire restaurant. It was also Karens intention to harass and humiliate the transgender person. Not cool. When some in the restaurant announced the inappropriateness of her actions, her husband doused one of them. An example of them believing that they were entitled to their opinion but others weren’t. Would they have been ok being doused or would they have felt attacked?
