It's weird to get used to the title, because I always think about the TWD episode.

Poor poor Otis. He can never catch a break, no matter what the Medium is.

Loved both Michonne's disruption of the Governors game, and Ricks massacre of Martinez.

Although in the TV show, it was very obvious that they were about to go to war. In the Comic, I believe that Rick was just assuming it was coming (even if he was right)

Season 4 was more similar to volume 7 and 8

So much happened in this volume! Some things:

    • Did anyone else think it was a pretty dumb move for the Governor to give Michonne's sword back and ask her to fight in the arena for him? He couldn't predict that would end badly? On my first read, I was scratching my head trying to figure this out, because the guy was pretty smart in his decisions otherwise. But on a second read, I figure he simply underestimated her because he's sexist. For example, when the group first got to Woodbury, Michonne tried to answer the Gov's questions but he interrupted her and told her he'd rather speak to Rick. (Yeah, I know the whole horrible rape thing should have been a big red flag for him being sexist, but I saw it more as a power struggle because he was afraid of her being stronger than him.)
    • On a related note, in the comics it seems Michonne is just as bitey as Rick. First she bit the Gov's ear, and now his neck in this volume. And her revenge scene -- what can be said other than he so deserved it? I liked the scene where she questions herself about it later on. Even though he deserved it, the fact that she was able to do it scares her. But because she is disturbed by what she's done means that she isn't a monster like him.
    • Poor Dr. Stevens. He was all, "I just can't believe we made it out of there so easily.... I'm just so relieved." --> *CHOMP* --> "YEAAAGGH!!" :(
    • Martinez totally fooled me on my first read, and I'm still not sure about him. It is totally possible that he came as the Gov's spy and then changed his mind when he saw the prison and realized what a great opportunity he had. I think he looked sincere in those panels where Rick tracks him down and kills him. Why didn't he just ask Rick if he could bring everyone back, though? Did he sneak away because he thought Rick might not trust him if he asked, and figured he'd just show up with the people and then ask if they could stay?
    • I was happy to see Otis as a walker with his guts hanging out. Hate that guy. :)
