Well yeah, they were the stars and did have the most intense material to be used over the other cast.

 

Sonequa didn't have the best material and gave a very good Performance; she was just outacted by Melissa, Chad and Scott. Though i did love her near-hyperventilating when she mentioned Karen.

Yes, Sonequa gave a decent performance, she's a good actress. She also had more intense/acting demanding material then anyone else besides Melissa, Chad and Scott imo. So your point is mute.

I'm not trying to discredit anyone - just saying, a lot of it is to do with the material they're given. I wouldn't say someone outacted everyone when most of the others had nothing demanding and intense really to work with. It's apples and oranges, you have some characters getting to be the stars, getting key scenes and showing off their chops and you have the rest just in normal discussions with not that much to play with.
