Maybe they are wolves. There was a sign in Richmond about the wolves not being far. I thought it was metaphorical but maybe it was literal.

They don't look like Wolves from their fur butt I'm notta Wolf expert. :zombies_blush: It's prolly a metaphor, or maybe it's the group name of whomever put the W's on the walkers heads. Those are prolly just like a pack of wild dogs like @Taeyeon'sBF said, Derle looks like he wants to skin one with his knifey in the promo.

good catch, the W standing for Wolves as a group, and then maybe that group is who painted wolves not far out front of Shirewilt. Maybe we start seeing similar signs as they travel.

 

Promo was stupid too. They drove at least 2 cars 500 miles, but then are shown walking in the promo during the last 100 miles. Sure, they don't want to all get captured if they're in the same vehicle, I get that, good plan, but if you can find 500 miles worth of gas, can't you find 600? Or better yet, risk a single vehicle so you don't have to WALK part of the way, which seems to me to be a much bigger risk than driving when you can turn around and have a bunch of people in your party shooting as you drive away from a newly identified threat?

 

Looks like they can't find enough cars/gas and have to hoof it the rest of the way to DC.

What I don't understand is when they are out in the open on foot... why don't they use the "walker pet" tactic that Michonne so infamously used back in season 2? Being surrounded by the walkers with no arms or mouths seemed to really keep other walkers away. Why haven't they used this technique again?

The only other time someone used this technique was Andrea that time she had to make her way back into the prison...

I was watching Make a path presents review and he mentioned it could be "Wall" like a tease to the zombie torsos outside of Negans sanctuary. It could be another group tho.

This is just a thot- but what if someone owns the dogs? Uses em for tracking, hunting? They look like feral, runaways.. But someone cld use them for protection.. We've never seen that before? Least to my knowledge- mite be a cool lil spin.
