Right after Morgan takes off his mask...
Look at his facial expression...

He does NOT look happy!

This tells me he doesn't really know who he is tracking...or..if he does..he really wants to get to Rick...and..and..well, who knows!

But if I had to guess...if he does know who he is after (Rick)...well, now that he (Morgan) has 'snapped back into reality'...he's remembering how Rick "could" be blamed for the death of his son because Rick left and he's one pissed off dude!

 

Whoever he's tracking placed that star on the tree, and we know that wasn't Rick.

 

He doesn't blame Rick for his sons death. He blames himself. As he said in "clear". Rick gave him the gun but he couldn't do it. That's what sent him off the deep end.
I'm glad to see him back but am worried that they will only use him for an episode or 2, before they kill him off.

 

Well I think Kirkman is full of Carp!

Those crazy Asian Carp,the ones that look like a normal fish but then hurl themselves at you from the water and whop you upside the head!

Misdirection is his mantra I am sure.
