I hope most of the midseason finale is shots of Bob's leg being examined at various angles over and over. Then later a flashforward of Beth flying Morgan to Alexandria a la The Neverending Story.

I'm thinking Gabriel feels he needs to die, for what he believes, are sins against his God.

I also found it interesting that when Gabe was looking at the bible, then lowers it to see Bob's half eaten burnt leg on the spit.

The page on the left Chronicles 8:12 was regarding The Offerings of Solomon...Then Solomon offered burnt offerings unto the LORD on the altar of the LORD, which he had built before the porch.
