So why can't people in this setting just build a walkway above their walls (oh right, The Governor did that!) and long pikes and just stick em walkers in the head for 8 hours a day X2, 10 people per shift, just thining out one place at a time. Hell even gathering shit ton of rocks, and then tossing them down middle ages castle style would work too.
