I wanted this episode to be called "The Hell". It does not coincide with the two previous episodes!

I've said this elsewhere, and I may be in the distinct minority, but Negan's speeches and over-the-top swagger are getting old already. I feel like I can predict most of what he's going to say. Like I said--may be distinctly in the minority here.

 

As a viewer, I agree that listening to yet another Negan swagger-speech is annoying. But then again, it's meant to be aggravating to Rick, and we're tuning in so we can share in Rick's life, good and bad.

 

Not enough Mean Girl Gif-Offs.

 

I'm complaining about the gun log. First off that gun log should have been thrown away once they knew Negan was gonna come a calling. Also, stash some guns, duh! and the gun log should list Tara and Heath's guns which would be missing and that was never brought up. Blah, this episode was a mere 7 for me. I do like how Rick's love for Daryl trumps all, those two.

 

I enjoyed the episode for what it was, but as Gimple's post-Season 5 output marches ever forward, I'm beginning to feel like the show is losing the ability to convey coherent themes anymore when it comes to big things like Negan. As we get more of Jeffery Dean Morgan's amazing performance, I'm starting to realize that a borderline-God character with no backstory leading a group of bumbling jerk-idiots turned trained killers is something that's easy to handwave in a comic, but in a serial TV show is much harder.

They had to edit the Governor to make him seem like an actual person, rather than a complete psychopath. They're not doing that here, and I don't think it's working in their favor.

 

I am just happy the video found of Rick was not of him and Michone. Brrrrrrrrrr

 

I don't know, I think, Negan is putting on a really big show for Rick - tehrefore the swagger and the speeches. And they seem to work on Rick at the moment. Can't wait, til he gets to know about the Kingdom.
I actually don't have that big a problem with Negan but with Dwight. Why waste a whole episode on that character, just to let him return to being a big ass. Maybe they should have focussed on a more sane and/or interesting savior character for giving some insight into the Sanctuary (I like that punk girl in charge of the raid of Alexandria)
Apart from that: very intense episode - Lincoln and Morgan were playing their asses of again - you can say what you want about the characters, but I just like them see act, they are great:Grin:

 

This episode was very good, it felt like I was reading the comic until the commercial breaks came in and ruined the tension with Negan and our survivors. That's my only complaint!

I know people who feel the way you do. It's a growing minority.

Can you imagine if we were getting the full comic book Negan on TV?

 

I was thinking the same thing, last night!
The same smirk, tongue to the teeth, the stance etc. At least he comes up with some naughty/comical catch phrases, now that Abraham is gone.

But like @westwingnut said its all part of the game. This is Negan. It works. He will continue to break others, because of it.

Maybe they don't have to break Daryl with syrupy annoying music, he can just watch Negan's machismo act, ad naseum
