I already expect it to be worse than FTWD and more cliché cheese. I really think the show lost a lot in the last 2 seasons. To much humans, not enough zombie problems.

That whole sequence worked a lot bettter in the comics. It felt like it made more sense. Here it just felt like, "okay... he's about 30 yards away. He has no cover. We do. Why isn't anybody shooting?"

 

I'm a bit disappointed with the execution of whatever Rick and Co's plan was. Negan walks out with no cover at all? I don't give a damn who you are, he should have been shot dead. And why oh why were so many bullets being wasted on glass windows? I feel like I got more out of the speeches than the actual action.

 

And that scene with Negan surrounded by walkers should have been shown in the show. Oh well.

 

I really hate that so much focus was put onto “Only ONE has to die” But he was there, no cover, just kill his ass and deal with his minions as need be. I know it’s a show, I’m a comic reader, and obviously he wasn’t gonna die, but make it more believable. He could’ve been dead in a second.

 

With the first flash forward scene, did anyone else immediately think we were looking at Rick in the hospital? IMS that bouquet was identical or similar to the one Shane placed.

 

I couldn't believe they didn't shoot too, but then, where would the fun be, in future episodes.

 

I don't like cliche cheese, it smells.

I still don't really understand the Rick flashbacks or flash forwards or whatever they are. Old man Rick, fine, but are they foreshadowing Rick is going to die before he becomes old man Rick? Why was he crying and looking like he's in pain?

 

Someone suggested the gunfire was to draw the walkers to the Sanctuary. I didn't think of that, what a great idea. They knew they couldn't get all the Saviors with the resources they had, but let the Saviors use their resources to get rid of them instead of using them on the living in the war.

 

That's exactly what my thoughts were...as it probably was for a great many others too. This was a glaringly HUGE writing gaff. They could have at least had Negan positioned behind everyone so there would be an obvious hesitation over trying to kill him. But no, he was front and center, full display, almost the entire time.

No excuses for this one.

That said, I did still enjoy the episode itself. I think I've learned to overlook the plot holes.

 

This show gives us plenty of 'opportunity' to suspend disbelief; Like how do none of the good guys get shot with so many bullets flying? How does Shiva know which are the bad guys?

Most of that stuff I can deal with. After all, it's entertainment, not a documentary. But when the whole focus of the main characters is to seek out Negan and kill him, and they write him standing out in the open yammering on with some 50-odd weapons trained on him and nobody shoots....c'mon man! I understand you can't kill him off that easily - I get it - but dang; don't write a scene like that.

 

All that aside, what i REALLY wanted to see, even knowing that Negan would be the first priority, is someone (okay Rambol Carol), taking care of the Garbage Pail people. (the illiterate shitheads). Not necessarily killing them (ok, blowing them to pieces), but rendering them speechless so that any who DID survive (except Jadis - she must DIE), will never be able to speak in that cryptic, gutteral, non american (non human) way again.

 

Why did this show get so dumb? I can only echo the others of sitting through a speech of only Negan needs to die then everyone having a clear shot at him. Just be consistent in the writing, some plot holes of that is unlikely etc are annoying but having the show not make sense is not on.

I'm so invested in the show I cant stop watching now but I watch feeling disappointment most of the time now.

 

No excuse for not shooting negan. That's gonna bug me till someone does it. Every time I see him from now on I'll be thinking "you ain't dead yet?"

No excuse as far as they stuck him in clear view outside by himself and the only way to stop the madness was clearly to fill him with lead!

It insults the fan and common sense to imply anything else is plausible or possible given the situation!

So why are we all hooked with such terrible setups and this being the 100th try?

 

Same here...Why do I pay money to watch this? Because this show is unwhatchable with commercials. Good God, shoot Negan while you are talking to him...
