It helps if you picture Rat Face getting chowed on.

If Rick goes all soppy sentimental, and lets Negan live, I'm done with this show.

tick tick tick tick tick tick BOOM. Enjoy the time you have left, I think. They were content to create an entirely new person to be Father Gabriel (grrr) and they will have the same lack of character consistency here, I don't doubt.

It's gonna tick me off too. Let's just say I'm prepared to be ticked off. As much as I want his story to be over I think most posters are right, Negan will be spared.

Maybe Negan will be killed despite Rick's intention to spare him. Either he is going to die due to another cause or his death is similar to the bad old guy in Taken 2.

A refresh for those who do not remember the Taken 2 ending:- (taken from Wiki)
''Confronting Murad, Bryan offers to let him walk if he agrees to return home and cease his desire for revenge. Murad agrees and Bryan drops his gun, but the former goes back on his word and tries to kill Bryan, only to find the gun unloaded. Realizing that Murad will never drop his vendetta against him, Bryan kills him by impaling him onto a sharp towel hook.''

Also, even if Rick shows mercy to Negan because of Carl, how about Maggie? Carl was not killed by Negan at all. But Glenn was directly killed by Negan. Can and will Maggie let Negan live? Maybe Carl has written a letter to Maggie too?

This whole season has been about our characters learning to embrace tough reality, to look at the "What's After This?" question. To see that there is a cost -- of war, of leadership, or helping or killing or saving, of just living in this apocalyptic world. Arguably, that's the whole point of the series. Where are those lines? We have seen this from most -- Carl, Rick, Maggie on the "cost v. blood-thirst," the Hilltop Savior POWs who stayed and also got killed, Tara, Jesus, Michonne, Aaron (and probably more on that soon), Enid, Dwight, Negan, Jadis. The only ones of substance who noticeably hasn't yet realized this would be Simon (who clearly won't), and Daryl who still kinda seems bent on killing Dwight, Eugine (who may soon have a reveal showing true allegiances), and Morgan who is losing his mind because he can't cope with the killing and guilt. I don't recall where Ezekial is here and don't think Gregory matters because he's just a coward. But this is clearly the theme and where the writers are going. I trust them to tell the story.

    Agreed.

The central theme of the entire series has been "What price are you willing to pay, what are you willing to become, in order to survive and protect your loved ones and can you come back from that?"

So we are witnessing how far Rick is willing to go and asking if he can come back from it.

That's what continues to make this show interesting.

But it would be the most real live reaction ever on the forum!

Kidding ;) I wouldn't do that, especially since you could retaliate.
