Just a feeling, but I think this will be one of those rarest of occasions where more than a few of us wish there was an 11 button here.

Just from the previews this episode looks like it was put together by wizards.

Emotions all over the place right now. Will parse them out in the dicussions threads after I've re-watched one or two or ten times.

 

I think I'm going to be the outlier here, I gave it a 2.

I would have ranked it much higher if they didn't have Rick and Anne on the helicopter. You just gave Rick the best exit you could have given him. Sacrifices himself to protect the group. We get emotional reactions from the two people we wanted to see. And then Anne finds him, throws him on the helicopter and 5 years later he still hasn't found his way back to his family?

Terrible, terrible storytelling. So either we will get Rick back some time in the future and will have to explain why he was gone for 5+ years, or we'll never see him again and wonder what happened.

 

You have perfectly described exactly why I feel so awkward and confused by this “ending”.

 

Okay here goes....

I sobbed damn near from beginning to end

And then the helicopter happened

And at first I was conflicted. Simply because I immediately thought "then why after this 5 or so year time jump has Rick not made an attempt to return to Alexandria" And I still have concerns about that BUT I am not going to make half baked predictions that I have no clue about. I am not going to cry over the unknown and bitch about story arcs not yet introduced to us.

I will instead watch next weeks episode with a great deal of excitement for what the time jump will bring us.

And I be damned if I am going to bitch about a future chance to have Rick Grimes in my living room again.

I thought the episode was excellent and Andy was as usual phenomenal

I give it a 9.8 and I have to round up

 

sadly I was told about the helicopter and I just thought it best to delete the message before a certain someone I know who I chat with offline read it and possibly read enough between the lines to figure out that in fact rick did not die

 

Gave it an 8. Was a little bummed that they chickened out and didn't kill him, going the milk the cow way (even though I'll watch the movies for sure and think they could get interesting). But mostly I was really really disappointed by that ending and the Judith Grimes crap, with sword, guns and hat - that was ri-di-culous!! So, Michonne is so much crap at parenting that this is what Judith becomes?

Other than that, loved the episode. Loved Shane and Hershell. Loved the kiss. I really really really hope the introduction of Judith was over the top for effect, and that she'll be a kind of normal little girl.

 

Thank you for that. I managed to stay spoiler- free, so Rick surviving was a total surprise.

If family is so important, why would he just disappear? That part makes absolutely no sense to me. Plus the HEY IT’S RICK GRIMES’S LAST EPISODE telegraphed the situation just a little too much. The interview with Yvette Nicole Brown was nice though.

I’d give the episode a 7, maybe and 8.

Im confident in that no one really "dies" unless we see it. After the helicopter scene, i could see a final finale in my mind, and im ok with that vision.

I gave it an 8. Story is once again captivating my attention, even with my bitterness over the episode. Promos look good. And i cant wait to see lil ass kicker in motion!

8. The flashbacks were cringey. However, the whole bridge thing was fantastic .
Disliking new Judith already. Haaaa

 

Just gave it my first 10/10. Not that I've rated every episode, and there are a few that match it from the back catalogue, but it was vastly superior to anything I expected of it. And what an ending. It would have made 11/10 if she'd said "Grimes. Judith Grimes." but you can't have everything.
