Was expecting Eugene to die in this episode since he's performing on broadway already.

 

Though all joking aside, I can't believe it's Jesus they killed.

 

One of them (zombies) betrayed him.

 

I would have gladly seen Eugene go instead!!!

Jesus maybe didn't die. I just started to like him in the final scene too. Couldn't handle the SJW before.
Negan back in the swim though is crazy. His continued presence has been a ratings-plummeting disaster already.

 

I do wish we had gotten the Negan from the comics instead of the neutered one we got on the show. He has the best lines in the comics, plus the "F" word is spoken like every other word.

 

Anybody else notice that Michonne had her old hairstyle in the quick preview? That probably means they're not only going to tell, but show us what event transpired during the time jump that drove everyone apart. I hope, anyway.

 

Well according to The Talking Dead, the executive producer Denise Huth sees Henry going to Hilltop as the apocalyptic version of going to college.

Take that as you will.

 

I really enjoyed the old school horror aspect of this episode when they were in the cemetery

 

Oh God Marilyn Manson is going to come back to Talking Dead.

 

Maybe they'll duct-tape his mouth this time. Yeesh...

 

We finally get confirmation on Laura Cohen's last episode as Maggie.

 

I liked the fog or mist .

Yeah, reminded me of the season four post-prison/road to terminus scene in the foggy woods with Bob, Sasha and Maggie. Loved that one too.

 

You know, in the comic’s it sort of went that way. Although it wasn’t intended as any kind of test of loyalty and rehabilitation, just absent minded neglect. Olivia( who was still alive and Negan’s caretaker in the comics) had just finished helping Negan bathe and cut his hair and he kind of flustered her with flattery and she forgot to lock the cell door when she left. The BIG difference which I had hoped to see on the show was that during this time Rick was away from ASZ for a few days and Negan chose to stay in his cell until Rick returned so he could show him the cell door and hopefully begin to build trust. This eventually leads to a cool scene later that the show stole and gave to Negan and Gabe last season. It began with Hilltop kids attacking a newly arrived Carl and Sophia. Carl returns and almost murder them with a shovel. One of the parents(white trash Tammy) is upset with Rick and his sons actions. A late night attack is attempted on a relatively handicapped Rick and he pulls out the old standby throat-bite maneuver for the second time and ends the encounter quick and brutal. Of course, the kid is enraged at the death of his parent at the hands of a Grimes and helps Negan escape. Negan goes along, then kills traitor boy, joins whisperers for short time, beheads Alpha and returns to Rick bearing a Santa sack of drippy gifts! Rick is forced to entertain his freedom and they sit down to talk. During the talk, ASZ is over run with walkers and Negan, being the only one of the two whose is more than able bodied saves Ricks life, carrying him through the herd and to relative safety in a trailer. The herd surrounds them and they bunker down. While trapped they bond a bit. I enjoyed it, some folks didn’t but I had really hoped to see it on the show. Especially since TV Negan sucked so bad as a villain I feel like redemption is the only thing that can make his character worth a damn.

 

And this is why you have been missed!
