Solid episode with a few logical flaws. I enjoyed it, although not quite as much as last episode. I'm going with an 8.5.

I get what Magna's group was trying to do (not leave one of their own behind) and the motivations behind it, but taking a deaf person out into the near pitch-black night when you necessarily didn't have to is one of the worst decisions I've seen anybody in this show make for a while.

Henry still rubs me the wrong way, but I really like the Daryl-Lydia conversations we're getting. It's a shame we don't have Carl for this arc.

Episode was really good though. I'll give it a 9.

Weakest of the season for me. The flashbacks felt like they were out of FTWD, and the whole night excursion by the Magma group was the kind of dumb they avoided until now this year (except for the Judith fiasco).
If you're going to look in enemy territory at night in the woods, please kill your flashlights, and if your whole ****ing group can use sign language, you better shut the hell up. And I guess they needed the fighters to be inside the walls for next week, but if you're going to go in creepy woods at night to reunite with the missing member of your group, just don't separate more, made no ****ing sense to leave the two weakest of the gang alone because "it was too dangerous"... That whole scene made me mad.

    5/10

8 for tonight's episode. The Alpha flashbacks were interesting. I think she had some crazy in her back then. Henry was thinking with his little head with his choices. But I know he is taking Carl's part in the story. I actually enjoyed the convos between Daryl and Lydia better though. And that ending was pretty damn sick. So next episode should be pretty intense.

For now I am sitting somewhere between an 8 and 8.5

Taking a cue from @Neuropyramidal and will submit my rating after I watch the episode a second time

Always love "in the beginning" flashbacks. Good, tight storytelling to confine them to one episode.

Lydia starting to question her group's philosophy in only her second appearance tells me the writers are no longer dragging their feet storywise.

Daryl's impressing the hell out of me.

New group is too impulsive, but they'll learn (if they survive). Magna's starting to get it.

Henry. Oy. Go eat worms, Henry.

Whisperers are really creepy. Alpha is disturbing with or without the mask.

Tsk, tsk. More senseless horse violence.

Explanation for Carol's long hair was very poignant, but I wish it had been Carol herself who confided it to Daryl, not Prince Doofas.

Once again, an hour that flew by!

The flashbacks were my favorite part of the episode. Magna's group started out strong with a great fight scene while out with Tara. I did roll my eyes later at them going out at night and then splitting up. Gave it a solid 8.

I gave it a 9, even though there were some silly things in it. I really liked the Daryl part of the story, I liked the background for Lydia. And yes it was very stupid for Magna's group to sneak out at night and then flash very bright flashlights around, and astonishingly ridiculous to leave the two deaf people out there on their own even though they can't hear walkers coming. But the stuff I liked made up for the stuff I didn't like.

I thought only the older one was deaf. Am I incorrect?

    You are correct.

I think the confusion is that in real life Angel (aka Kellie) is partially deaf

I thought the older one was totally deaf and Kelly is partially deaf. That's why Kelly didn't hear the walker coming up behind her?

    Am I wrong?

Angel Theory, who plays Kelly, is hard of hearing in real life. But I don't think they stated that on the show for Kelly.

Then I take back my dislike of them leaving 2 deaf people in the woods alone, since it was only 1 deaf person and her sister.

Found the Lydia stories/flashbacks and that whole thing a bit topsy-turvy, confusing like writers started out one way she was going to be portrayed then flipped.

Same with daryl and the trying to feed her water, being nice then mean. It was a little like he was trying to be the good cop -and- the bad cop. Still, like Daryl's screen time and he is always pretty valuable.

Henry- as agreed to a comment in another thread...just found it a little too annoying and the story seemed a big too big for the actor to carry. We'll see if this changes! :D
