EXACTLY. he’s the one being passive aggressive. I think I’ve been rather straight forward.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I did. Salty. It’s just frustrating when it feels like someone doesn’t even want to try. I will try to be more civil. Hold. The. Snark.

That's it Biff! Right in your civility thread! I'm gone 2 days and you're even dumber than you were already?

Edit: I see it's been addressed already, but I'll leave it there anyway.

Something I don't understand: why some people figure it's acceptable to call another poster "dumb" among other things. I've said some bone-headed things in my time, but I'm careful not to call other posters names. There are many a moderated forum where you'd get called out for that.

You'll enjoy this discussion, @Biffster. Excellent points made from both sides.

You'll know when you've stepped on a landmine when it blows up underneath you. That's the most straightforward way to find out what they are.

Ha! Well I’ve stepped on a few in my experience so far. Thanks for putting it into perspective.

All four sides actually. The right of your fist ends where the right of my nose begins. An interesting discussion about the topic of free speech and how it looks in the halls of higher learning. Cool also because the discussion takes place in my home country. Thanks for sharing this, BA.

One of my favourite Monty Python skits even when I was a kid. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition. :D

Look, I’m not allowed to argue with you unless you pay for another five minutes.

How very dare you!!1! Real children in real places have lost real limbs to real landmines11`1 You ignoble poltroon!!! Try stepping on a real landmine once in a while, you might be able to speak about the subject with a measure of compassion, or such other emotion as I may demand*, you utter mammalian airbreather.

    *Your statutory rights are affected.

Listen you, our argument was nowhere NEAR five minutes! I should still have plenty of time left.

I was making a factual statement, not an emotional appeal. Therefore, I view your entire post as inapplicable to the current conversation. I like the word "poltroon", though. "airbreather"? I'm still puzzling that one out. "Mouth-breather" I could understand, but "air-breather"? For a mammal, isn't that just redundant?

Clearly, I'd have been better off replaying some branded humour that you already knew by heart...
