    Aaron and Daryl are walking after the horse gets killed.
    And the conversation goes like this:

    People are people.
    The more afraid they get, the more stupid they get.
    Fear shrinks the brain.
    They're scared of you and me for different reasons.
    They're less scared of me because they know me.
    It's less and less every day.
    So let them get to know you.
    You should go to Deanna's party tonight.
    I got nothing to prove.
    I met a lot of bad people out here doing a lot of bad shit.
    They weren't afraid of nothing.
    Yeah, they were.

    What do you think Aaron means by "Yeah, they were."?

    Perhaps Aaron's saying everyone is scared of something, but they put up an act to hide it.

    Aaron's gay, so I'll guess he's spent a lot of years acting straight, but he was afraid his secret would be revealed. He knows when someone isn't being honest. Perhaps those interviews Deanna's been filming are for Aaron to review and decide who can be trusted.

    As he said, fear shrinks the brain. If someone's not thinking logically they will act like an animal. (bad people doing bad shit)
