It depends on how you define "sexy." If you define sexiness in terms of looks, popularity, and success, then he has to be up there. But, as some of us are already well aware of, this definition is really superficial and it fails to take into account other important criteria, namely a well-cultivated personality! I do not know about Adam Levine's personality, but I am sure you could find similar personal characteristics in other actors and non-actors as well. This whole "sexiest man alive" title involves a lot of arbitrariness and is, quiet honestly, stupid.

It's not so much the actor as it is the character, at least that's how it is for me. (well he's the sexiest version of Darcy, so yeah it's the actor too)
So Darcy, aloof, but misunderstood and ignorant of how he affects others (as shown to him by Lizzy). He's a nice guy, but he only really shows his softer side to people who are close to him, so the general public sees him as kind of stuck up.
Kind of reminds me of my husband.

Ok yeah he's a rock star/singer/songwriter. But he's also an artist (comics especially) and a bit of a thespian. He's a nice quiet guy offstage, but he has used his drama skills to create his persona as the lead singer. He's not afraid of his sexuality, which I find incredibly sexy, and he's very dominant when he's onstage, which is also very sexy. I saw him live and... that man just... I have no words.
I also just find him super attractive, all things aside.
