It's almost that time of the year again - my favorite time of the year, the Halloween season. This year AMC is running Fear Fest for nearly three weeks from October 13th to the 31st. Just thought we could use this thread to discuss whatever airs during the marathon.

Here is the schedule released so far(much more to come):

And don't forget the F13 marathon!

Can't wait to see the full line-up...

I'm surprised they're not running another TWD marathon leading into the new season. I figured they would at least air the last half of season two....

I figured they would, too. I suppose they believe we got enough of that back in July. Heh.

Even though it's only three days at this point, i'm already more pleased with this year's schedule than I was the last. Cronenberg's Dead Zone, Carpenter's Christine, Romero's Tales From the Darkside, Jackson's The Frighteners. Looking good!

There are some cool films already on the bill. Even though I already own the majority of them on DVD, I won't be able to stop myself from watching them on AMC. I'm really looking forward to BLOOD OF DRACULA.

Fear Fest is the only time I watch movies on AMC, even though like Misfit I own most of them already. I will, however, be skipping CHRISTIEN. In my opinion it is one of the worst adaptations of a King book I've ever seen.

I like Carpy's version of CHRISTINE. It's far from the book, though (which is my all-time favorite King).

Never read the book. The movie is a bit cheesy in places and definitely not in line with Carpenter's best work, but there's some sort of charm to Christine that pulls me in.

I highly recommend the book. Even if King had removed the haunted car, it would still be a strong read.

And yeah, CHRISTINE isn't one of Carpy's better films. But I still dig it.

CHRISTINE is in my top five favorite King books but SALEM'S LOT takes first place. The only vampire story to best DRACULA in my opinion.

SALEM'S LOT is definitely in my top five all-time King efforts. Fantastic book.

I'm ashamed to say that I actually own Salem's Lot but have never read it....

Rectify that problem, and soon. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Thinking about it, I might revisit the Lot, too. Just might take Hooper's movie for a spin, as well.

Did Tobe Hooper direct Salem's Lot? Strange that I didn't know that....

Yeah, he directed it. And it's pretty good, too. Much better than its remake.

I like it. Sure, it's not as good as the book, but I can appreciate Hooper's effort. And, like I mentioned, it's miles ahead of its remake.
