So I just got a new colleague, and it appears that they will be playing Rush Limbaugh's program in their office every day, and loud enough to where one can't escape it. I didn't think it would bother me that much, but it really does, it feels like someone's beating you with a hammer after awhile. My question is, what would be better, to politely bring it up now that I'd like him to turn it off or wear headphones, or should I put up with it as long as I can and hope someone else snaps first?
Oh Lord help you. I CANNOT imagine listening to that whiny idiot all afternoon every day. If it were me, I would definitely at least ask him to be respectful of his colleagues and turn it down. Or maybe just the last part of that sentence. LOL
Thanks, I know it's always better to nip things in the bud, but I don't want to look like a b!tch right out of the gate, either. Also, I have to admit I'm starting to fantasize about waiting until I really can't stand it, running over there, leaning in his doorway and screaming, "WILL YOU TURN THAT SH!T OFF!!!" That would probably get his attention. LOL, it's not really like me though, it's funny that it only took a few days before I started losing my self-control.
I would quit because even if they stop playing Rush Limbaugh, you are still forced to work with someone who would ever listen to Rush Limbaugh.
I am just surprised that he has that big of balls to listen to ANYTHING that loud being so new. Please do it the second way. And record it.
I actually listen to a tiny portion of his show on Monday's in my car when I have a weekly appt during lunch. That's all I can take.
He's an older man, not some kid right out of school. At some point in some people a sense of entitlement sets in. LOL, I tried telling myself he was probably hard of hearing, but it turns out I'm not that altruistic. Actually, as of this moment, the second way has the lead.
He's in the next office down the hall with a concrete wall on the other side of the hallway. It's like I'm sitting right next to the radio.
You should ask him to turn it down because it is a disruption and distraction, REGARDLESS of whether it's Rush Limbaugh or anyone else.... Right ladies? Of course I am. Lol It's about what this person is doing, not who they listen to. And what they are doing, is being inconsiderate. I'm like Negan at my work, because I shut that shit down! I don't care if it's country music, rock music, opera, liberal talk show, conservative talk show, etc. Doesn't matter. I politely ask them to use headphones and explain why that is important. Every single person I've talked to gets offended, but **** them. They work for me. Lol When you blare the radio or any audio, you're essentially forcing other people to hear it, and they might not want to hear it. It's called being courteous toward others.
Of course......that's the...........MAIN reason. Lol Also, I guess TWDF isn't a disruption or distraction huh? Hypocrite.
@purriwinkle you crack me up. You are the ultimate stealthy member around here. We don't even know you are around and BAM......a funny rating appears from you. LMAO
I'm not distracting others when I login to this site and decide to read all of your stupid posts! I'm only destroying MY brain cells when I do that. Absolutely ZERO impact on the community around me. So suck it.
Leave him a note on his door, but be nice about it. Dear Mr. ? We know you enjoy listening to Rush Limbaugh, but it is becoming a distraction to your fellow employees. Please turn it down. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My gawd! That happens with EVERYBODY who rates a post!!! Why do I even talk to you? There's got to be more to life than this.
I fully agree. Love big band music. But when our ex grill cook blasted it, he deserved to be relocated. The work place is no place for loud distractions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hey Sharpie. I just gave you a "Winner" rating for your post.... Like a ninja. I bet you didn't see that coming? lol
