Fun topic! Here are some to consider:

The Unimog - here are some iterations of it. There are civilian versions too. Portal axles. A good get anywhere vehicle.

Looks like these Canadians are ready for the ZA - they have an old WWII Daimler Ferret (sans turret), and mounted a gun on it. Canadians like guns? Who knew?

Cannot find a post-able photo... but the Israeli Combat Guard transport would be THE vehicle to dominate the ZA with

I think the ideal vehicle needs to excel in, at least, 4 areas:-
    1) easily maintained/repaired
    2) against zombies (ie vehicle should be large enough to literally crush over a herd)
    3) against humans (ie vehicle with enough armour to withstand at least automatic rifles)
    4) against adverse terrain (eg amphibious like BTR-80, with giant tough wheels over muddy tracks)

If you are looking to go to war, drive through brick walls or go for a joy ride in some of the world's most inhospitable environments, make sure it is behind the wheel of the Paramount Marauder. The Marauder, billed as the 'most indestructible vehicle' ever is a ten-ton military vehicle designed by South African manufacturer Paramount Group. Recently it was put through a series of tests that left a Hummer a smoking heap of scrap metal. What destroyed the Hummer was seven pounds of plastic explosives, which hardly scratched the Marauder.

It costs about 1/2 a million dollars

    5) has a relatively long range and uses a multifuel engine, or at least a fuel likely to be available.

    Nah, That is overkill,
The problem would be on the handling, you must feel like you are riding a beast with ease
That's why i like this one so much

It does seem that way, but what I didn't explain was how my engine will be souped up using various items from the Walmart automotive department and I will be able to reach top speeds of 20 mph.

points for coolness. Maybe as a scouting/recon vehicle. Won't carry much in terms of passengers or materials. But a hardened vehicle that moves fast would have its uses. If memory serves there was a custom automobile manufacturer in Florida who was offering these.
