@Biffster im unconfused. @zombiemom62 was seeing the still of the opening scene with Saul in the hospital bed (black and white future scene) and she thought it was Chuck. Lmao

They do look like they could be brothers.

 

I imagine all will become clear as day very shortly.

We're seeing more of Jimmy's transition into Saul. That final scene where he told Howard that it was "his cross to bear" and then got up and was whistling as he asked them if they wanted any coffee was a good way to close out the episode.

 

It was excellent. I loved how at first you see the look of growing horror at the realization that actually Jimmy himself directly started the final push for Chuck, but then the Saul side kinda took over and the opportunist in him saw Howard's guilt as a way to transfer the burden of the cross, if nothing but for his own temporary piece of mind. It was brilliant.

 

Indeed. This was something new even for slippin’ Jimmy. It was cold, pure and simple.

 

Yeah. Kim was floored.

There was so much going on in the Mike/Madrigal and the Salamanca/Gustavo sides of the story, too. I'm going to rewatch it this morning.

Gus's prediction was precise, calm, and chilling. Someone is going to come at the Salamancas. Dun dun DUN....

 

I also LOVED the opening sequence. With future Saul. It was very suspenseful.

Thoughts on the cab ride?

 

The driver was from Albuquerque and seemed to recognize Gene/Saul. Probably from all the TV ads.

 

Ok because I was trying like mad to see if he was someone we were supposed to know. I didn't even think about him being recognized just from his local somewhat fame.

 

It might be even darker than that. Jimmy wanted to take down Chuck for having betrayed Jimmy's aspirations, so he let the authorities know about Chuck's disability. Maybe when Jimmy hears Howard's belief that the disability issue was the likely the last straw for Chuck, maybe Jimmy was whistling and light of heart because he was triumphant.

 

And off the hook. I like that! But his conscience will mess with him.

 

I’d say it was a mixed reaction at best. He may have “won” this time, but I think Jimmy also feels tremendous guilt over helping to precipitate his brother’s death. Saul, on the other hand, might not care so much.

 

Which is why Saul will be TAKING OVER. Move over Jimmy. Lol

 

Somehow I can’t see Saul and Kim Wexler cohabitating for very long.

 

No, and judging by how pissed she was at him last year over various things , you can see not only the shock at his reaction to Howard.....but the underlying beginnings over another riff starting between them.

I hate Howard, and even I felt for him last night.

 

It'll be interesting to see what happens to Kim in all of this too. I don't think she's going to die in the present timeline and believe she's going to be worked into the future Saul storyline when we eventually get to that point.
