Starting The Dark Tower as of right now. Yeah I know, but I've never been a huge fantasy or Stephen King fan. Want to finish this before the movie comes out which is close to impossible given my usual reading pace.

Also getting Jem Robert's biography of Douglas Adams early next week, which I'm more than excited about and to my own dismay will probably finish in a couple of hours.

Has anyone read Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond? It looked interesting to me and I wanted to get others' opinions on the book.

I don't think I'll be seeing the Dark Tower movie. It will be a completely different story. Plus, RON ****ING HOWARD.

I've just started the new Vampire Lestat novel - Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis. I'm hoping it will be as good as Ann Rice's earlier novels.

I really want to order a book about the Harrington family from Hadingham -Sible, Essex, England. It would be of great help in learning more about that part of my family tree.
I just can't justify paying $120. for a book though. And that price is for a used book.
Why can't I have tons of money, where this purchase would not affect me whats so ever.

My favorite non-fiction stuff is Joel Salatin, my favorite fiction is Stephen King and Diana Gabaldon.

It was really good! A bit different but I enjoyed that. Bringing in Atlantis was a good twist I think. So yes, I'd rate it up there! Perhaps not quite as high as The Witching Hour or The Vampire Lestat, but pretty close :)

I read another book that had the Atlantis twist as well, The Prince of Conjurers. The author, Laurie Bolanos, is my brother-in-laws cousin. So I read it out of obligation, but it was one that was hard to put down! It was her continuation of the Phantom of the Opera. Of course, set here in New Orleans.

Dennis Lehane, start with 'A Drink Before the War', book 1 of his Kensie & Gennaro series, book 2, 'Darkness Take My Hand' is hands down one of the best books I've ever read.

Dan Simmons, start with Carrion Comfort. Or if you like SciFi, the Hyperion series.

I have recently finished The Reluctant Swordsman by Dave Duncan and it was good. I will rate it 8/10. People interested in Fantasy genre like Game of Thrones would like this.

IT is either in the 1 or 2 position for me of Stephen King books. That and The Talisman I switch back and forth on.
