I started watching season 1/2 a few weeks ago, got 3/4 as Christmas gifts, and bought both halves of season 5 on Boxing Day. Currently finishing season 5 and really loving it.

I'm not the only one who liked Hank from the start, am I? I don't usually like that kind of character, but he added something special, I think.

I just use Netflix. But it doesn't have the second half of season 5 sadly.

I remember now the 2 standalone episodes of Walt & Jesse. 4 Days Out & Fly. These are two of my favorite episodes of the entire series. Might be one of the most fun part of watching the marathon.

I liked him from the start as well. He was annoying from time to time but he really brought something to the story (aside from his housebound days), especially in the final season, and the whole Minerals thing just saved the character.

I agree. I just finished watching the final season, and hot damn, his story arc in the entire fifth season was great.

I never really disliked Hank, but i think he got more likable as the show went on :) He was a little overly macho in the beginning, but you could always tell he loved Walt and his family. Part of the genius of this show is that (for me at least) there wasn't a set "good guy" and "bad guy"...everyone had so much dimension that i found myself rooting for different people at different points throughout the seasons.

Couldn't sleep this morning and woke up around the middle of the final episode. Almost brought a tear to my eye.

    In honor of that finale:

Whenever I listen to that song Walt's dead but satisfied face appears right in front of me.

Yeah, it's one of those songs that will now and forever be related to the movie/show it worked so well on.

Just like crystal blue persuasion. That too is now Breaking Bad's song....

True. The El Paso song as well. It made the opening car scene of Felina so great and unforgettable.

Vince Gilligan was wise to end Breaking Bad at season 5. The show's quality never suffered and it went out in a blaze of glory.
