The kid's stupid cause he wasn't smart enough to understand you can shoot people through loose-ass wire and had to open the door, but he's not really the screw-up in all of this.

I was talking about the repetition in writing. But I agree in the sense that there shouldn't be prisoners.

Henry is not just a kid, he's a pissed off kid out for blood. He's already got it in his head that whoever killed his brother has to die too. That's been brewing for a while. So he was bound to try something when he got the chance away from Ezekiel and Carol. He screwed up because that's what kids do but I don't think it's just for the sake of having kid screwing up on the show. It goes with the narrative I think.

It does go because the narrative and character development are repetitious, imo.

It is boring to see another dumb kid in a tv-show. Would Carl go "It's a kid! Sometimes parents have to listen to us kids!" as a 17-18 year old again or would he be the idol of Henry and follow him? That is the question I wonder. God damn tv kids!

How did Henry figure out that they lied to him about who killed his brother? Or was he snarling at the prisoners just to get a confirmation? It didn't seem like that.

I think it was more of the plotting problem. The only person they could come up with to open the gate was Henry, and even he didn't have a reason in the world.

I just figure he didn't believe them. He's probably not new to adults trying to get one over on him. He's a very angry child. Well warranted reason of course, but very bitter.

Haven't the adults learned that they have to keep a better eye on the kids? Create a ZA training program like Carol tried to do, but not just with fire arms training but some situational training too. What would you do if X, Y or Z happens? Get them trained to think of the greater good for the survival of the group cause they sure as hell have demonstrated they need some guidance.
Who else would have been inexperienced enough to think he could enter a pen of full grown fighters even if he had a gun?

I took it that when Carol treated Henry like a kid, not letting him go outside to help, he realized they lied to him about who killed Ben so he wouldn't pursue it. But they should have added a line of dialogue about it to make it more clear. When Carol said he would be killed if he went outside, they should have had Henry say "Gavin didn't kill my brother, did he".

There's a fine line between trusting the viewers to read between the lines and plain ole leaving something completely out. LOL

You just hit the nail on the head. This episode featured a lot of the latter.

I was wondering how Henry knew...I guess I just assumed that he assumed Morgan was lying to protect him. Lots of assuming goin' on. ;)
