We've seen this several times now, people on the verge of death seeing the walkers as they were in life.

I wasn't quite sure what to think of this, but I agree that it's not a hallucination, but rather an implied perception. We've seen Carol in recent episodes kind of breaking down and becoming less inclined to kill. In the ZA it'd be all too easy to forget that these walkers were people just like anyone else. I think it was mostly just used as a sign of empathy and a sort of regret for everything that's happened.

I think that's what they want you to think. Plus, it is extremely cool.

I know. It's demented. I can't help it! I would murder someone who put this out in viewable print.

I disagree with your show ending theory. But DO agree there may be a literary reason WHY she is having these hallucinations/visions about the zombies. Writers may find it useful to advance changes they are making to her character for future storyline.

Or maybe it has to do with the past. She has never dealt with the Lizzie-Mika situation and it has weighed very heavily on her. Lizzie thought the walkers were still human, just in a different form. Perhaps that's what's driving the hallucinations and until she talks to someone about it and gets some level of closure, she will continue to struggle.

Hmmm could be tied to past events, but since hallucinations are a new events I think it speaks to something going on with Carol's character/mindset going forward. I HOPE TO GOD this is NOT a sign that TWD writers are poisoning this series with the stupid pseudo-philosophy from FTWD that zombies are just "different" people! Ugh!

They are undead cannibalistic zombies, whose only purpose is to kill and eat the living. Anyone saying otherwise is a lunatic. The writers will destroy the show if they try to sell that theory as valid.

LOL right. Well "culture" and "tradition" are not equivalent to truth or facts. Doesn't make me a xenophobe or "insensitive" or wrong. People can play dress up and/or dig up bones on a "special day" or whatever. If writers transform TWD flesh eating cannibalistic zombies into a "race" they will undoubtedly murder this series. The teeny boppers already had their Twilight recasting of vampires and werewolves. Please don't ruin zombies with that ****

Like Hershel all the way back in series 2? Nah. It was just Carol going through some shit, maybe the ease with which people were dropping the walkers was reminding her of the ease in which she could off living people.
