These are all just self-contained storylines that are suppose to make us think about human nature. The headless people with signs on them were their own story, and meant to make us think about what went down in that small group of people. This is also its own self contained story, meant to make us speculate about what went down in the golf resort group when normal folks were put into an abnormal situation. I think they are a nice touch on the already good quality of the show.
