Anyone else cringe when the van tipped over the bridge clearly looking like it was going to take a nose dive and was angled to flip upside down, yet somehow it miraculously landed on all fours? I'm usually not one to nitpick little mistakes I see in the show, but that was just plain bad.

Yeah, I know this should probably go in the Complaints and Criticisms section, but I figured a blunder this bad deserves it's own thread.

Oh yeah. The anti-physics van. Pretty incredible that it didn't flip at all!.. lol
I guess they wanted it to land upright for the zombie to fall on the roof... I remember seeing that they had to do a double take on the drop when they were filming because the first wasn't satisfactory...

Daryl is so cool, he made it do a loop-the-loop on the short way down.

I assumed it did a full flip and landed back upright.

I thought it did a full flip too, how else could it have landed like that?
Anyone have a picture of the bridge?

    Edit: Here we go.

Say the van is 2.5 metres tall. That'd make it a roughly 12 metre drop? Is that enough room for a full flip?
If not... then physics defying it is.

I assumed full flip but I don't think there's enough distance to make it possible.

I thought it did do a full flip. I was too terrified to pay much attention. And then the zombie drops were awesome, so I immediately stopped caring lol.

Raining walkers.... Just like the old Big Spot days.

I just gathered the van slipped off the bridge and fell... Basically going out wards midair, then down. To somehow stay upright *shrug* I avoided high school physics.

It was kinda epic and awesome. It was like a cartoon. First the van was about to slam on its back and then it fell the other way. It was like nope.

I'm also thinking it could've done a full flip, but does seem unlikely in that distance. I thought it was funny when Carol said after the crash "we made good time down". lol

Maybe the van was a cat in another life and that's why the van landed on its feet.

There's just no way. A full flip? Sure, if that bridge was a hundred feet higher it may be possible. Why is it so hard for everyone to just simply admit that the writers messed up and delivered an unrealistic scene?

There's no way the van would have done a full flip from that position. All the weight is in the front.

Sucks for Carol that it didn't have a passenger side air bag. I thought Daryl was gonna go Kurt Russell; "This van is 100% death proof. Only to get the benefit of it, honey, you really need to be sitting in my seat."

Yeah it is more likely the van would've nose dived into the ground.

I think you can see what looks like part of an air bag on Carol's side after they landed.

That looked more like a seat belt wound to me which was also touch to buy into with the way the van landed.

I'm not talking on her body, but on the dash, you see what looks like part of the passenger side air bag when the camera pans up from behind.

A person above mentioned they didn't think there was an air bag on the passenger side.

If it was intended to imply a full flip that is even more ridiculous! From that distance and position and speed, it was going to be a nose dive. Might have ended up on the roof after hitting the ground. No way it ends up on its wheels.

Should have landed on it's roof. I don't take issue with them not really getting hurt. I know some people that were in a much worse accident than that and they didn't get anything more than a bruise or two. But the way the van landed was weak. The zombies following the van down made up for it, though. I did like that.
