Was it me or when Glenn and company were in the tunnel did anyone else see a walker that looked just like Bub from the original 1985 "Day of the Dead"? Its kind of ironic because in Season 3's penultimate episode, there was also a zombie reference, but from the 1978 "Dawn of the Dead".

I bet Bassman could tell you. I missed it myself. I did notice a cameo from the walker on issue 15's cover.

I totally saw it!
Day of the Dead was Greg Nicotero's first major job, so it's fitting they stuck Bub in there.

I thought so too, but I figured it was just me and took it as inadvertent. I bet it was intentional!

Nice pickup, forgot right after it happened

Caught Bub myself too.
Totally expecting him to still be wielding that empty 1911 as well.

That and it could've also been Sherman Howard uncredited and without makeup!!!

I noticed that too, but then immediately forgot about it. Flyboy has made an appearance too.

Is this the Bub we all know and love? If anyone has a screenshot of the walker from TWD tonight, please post as comparison. Would be cool to see :)

Damn that is almost identical when side by side. That's what I love about this show, the little details and throwback/tributes/homage and so on ...

I'm so glad you mentioned this, knew I couldn't have been the only person in America that caught that.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

you mean issue 13 right? the walker with the light shining through the holes? I dug that almost as much as the Homage to "Bub" the first named Zombie. Should have had him throw a salute. :p

Noticed it immediately. Kinda funny because I was just recently saying we've seen lots of references to night and dawn, even non-zombie movies like jaws and American werewolf in London, but none from day. It was nice to see bub. Underground, no less.

Now they need to work in dr. Tongue and a reference to Rhodes.

It was impossible to miss for anyone that's a fan of Romero's Dead trilogy.

I noticed that too, haha. It went a little too quick for me to be completely sure but I definitely noticed it.

Definitely Bub! Also that whole tunnel scene was reminiscent of the silo tunnels in 'Day'
