Well our bid to have legalized weed in Minnesota has failed so all I have left to hope for now is the opting out of DST bill. If they fail at that i'll fall to the floor and weep.

HAHAHAHA. Why do you hate DST? Just because of the infernal time changing? I would think Minnesotians would grasp every ray of sunshine.

That's the thing though, there is still JUST AS MUCH sunshine regardless of where we put our clocks. It's not like we can will the sun into being just by moving the hands of a clock. And it's only an hour anyway.

I hate it because I have to get up an hour earlier every morning, and I hate changing the clocks.

Exactly! Technically speaking, we can make it to where the sun rises at Noon or sets at 3 AM if we wanted to, because that aspect of "time" is abstract. The sun is still "up" for a set period of time.

But this back and forth changing the clock nonsense is THE WORST.

You just don't care whether you get a.m. sun or p.m. sun? Or the sunny period literally doesn't change in any respect? Maybe it's something to do with your latitude?

That’s what has people fooled into going along with it. “An extra hour of sunlight “.
In reality, it is the same amount.

No, I'm generally up either way so I see it either way. I could live with staying on DST or just go to real time. I just want it to stay whatever way it is. I suppose if it doesn't flip forward or back it would feel normal whichever way.

Thanks. (Your first answer put me into a good case of the giggles, about how there is no way to make more sunshine.)

Just so y’all know how much I hate changing my clocks? None of them are yet except my car.

Wait. I don’t think my car is either. Lmao shows how much I pay attention.

All of mine are changed except the car. I only ever think about it being the wrong time when I'm driving, and I can't change it then, and I forget by the time I get where I'm going.

My cell phone scares me sometimes. After the time change it switched itself over to the 24 hour military clock, and I had to go in and change it back. I think it might be communicating with Skynet.

I had dutifully changed mine before I went to bed the night before, and my alarm went off the next morning and I was surprised that it was THAT much darker out. Long story short, my clock is supposed to correct for daylight savings time itself and advanced itself again so I was up at 5:00 instead of six! :( Stupid clock. Stupid DST.

Set this to music and the whole nation can sing along with you. lol

I used to be able to reset a car clock during a traffic stop, but with the Mini Cooper you have to push a lever in to get into a menu and then some buttons to scroll through sub-menus and the down button to get to the time change and then more pushing to get to whatever hour you want. And then you go through the drill to make the minutes be exact because they will have drifted out of accuracy. It would be easier to go buy a new car.

I just turn on my Garmin to get the correct time. :)

WTH, my atomic clock hasn’t corrected itself yet. However the clock in my car is now right. My clock function isn’t working so I wasn't able to reset it to standard time last fall.

That would annoy the hell out of me if my vehicle clock kept showing the wrong time. At least it's only for shorter period though, the standard time.
