Was anyone else laughing at the stupidity of bringing the mother's corpse onto the boat? Then the kid moping around it for most of the episode. They risk their lives to bring a corpse onboard, then the kid abruptly dumps her during the "funeral". Dumb.

Good thing they caught that eel or else the dead mother would be dinner.

Madison: Chris you need to eat......................your mom.

The family is still pretty fresh to the ZA and that was their first major loss. Had they left her corpse on the beach, she would of been ravaged by the walkers. Since there was no time for burial on land burial at sea is the next best thing. As they become further hardened and rack up more losses hopefully that necessity will be the last on their list of priorities.

Its no different than rick risking his life to find loris corpse. Or daryl rosita and abe going back to retrieve denise corpse after physically carrying Eugene who was shot.

I wanted to think it was to give her a burial at-sea, but think the real reason is Chris wouldn't leave the shoreline otherwise.

    Chris is an idiot.

it's all good and well that he's upset and being creepy obsessive, but then to just dump her like that was psychotic.
maybe he'll loose his marbles and they'll put him down to spare him his misery.

Don't try to justify it. It was stupid. They saw what the dangers were back at that clinic they let the walkers overrun. You're being run off a beach by walkers and you're dragging a dead body with you??

Easier than trying to drag Chris away from it. At least dead bodies don't struggle and project teenage angst at you.

I dunno. In the very first episode of TWD, Rick goes back to put Hannah, the bicycle girl walker, the one he met in the park out of her misery. There was no need to do that, except that at that point in the story, he still thought of walkers as people and felt sorry for her.

Yes, he did. But he wasn't being chased by a horde of walkers at the time either.
