I have my doubts too, but still hoping, based on articles I've read that claim the premier will pick up exactly where it left off, that they will redeem themselves somehow. I'm not sure what it would take, the only thing I can come up with is revisiting the last few minutes based totally on someone's POV other than the victim's? Just seeing the group's reaction will be pretty emotional I think. Rick's reaction to Lori's death had more impact on me than her actual death...so maybe? So I'll cling to my non spoilery-ness in hopes that the season premiere will justify it.

 

Yes and no. I really want to see it, in the moment, what it's intended for. Can I wait 5 months? That's trickier. I am pretty sure that at any given time from now until when the episode airs, if someone says they know..I'm reading.

And I'm not normally a spoiler person.

What's going to suck is if they don't reveal who died in the season premier & we have to wait an additional week to 'possibly' find out. Meh

I definitely want to know. It just doesn't seem like a legitimate cliffhanger or spoiler. "Yay! I get to find out half a year from now who got their brains bashed in/out". Such a dick move...

It's funny because I put off this "season" for so long just for reasons like this, but I never expected them to do something this ridiculous.

 

Bothers me as well, but they want people to be back for sure for season 7 i guess. Personally, i don't think it was any of the women, or Carl, and Rick.
I want to rule out Aaron, because when he was doing the rhyme for the last few words, they showed Aaron, and someone else, and if he was going in order of the characters, it wouldn't be them.
I think it's either Eugene, or Abraham personally.

 

The problem I have with this theory is that we were all coming back ANYWAY.

It wasn't like most fans of the show would say "Ohhh X got killed in the season finale, I guess I won't keep watching the show anymore".

I don't think the reason for the cliffhanger was to insure people came back for next season. I think it was simply that Gimple thought it was a good idea to do it like that, he is in charge, and either all the other people working on the show did too OR they didn't but didn't have the sack to stand up to him.

 

I wonder if there are any other Mass Effect fans on here. Because the situation with the cliffhanger reminds me a whole lot of the debacle with the Mass Effect 3 ending. Seriously. Someone felt they were making a really artsy and edgy sort of thing, but in reality it ended up pissing off a buttload of fans and there was Internet rage for a loooooooooooong time.

Like, the game came out in 2012 and there are STILL some people who are mad about it.

This sort of reminds me of that. Tried something artsy and "cool" that largely backfired and the one who organized it apparently operated in a vacuum as far as internal feedback went.

 

I have never played it. Aside from the ending issue, is it worth it for me to buy it?

 

Absolutely. I highly recommend playing the full trilogy, though. Your decisions from the first two games import into the last and it's worth it. It's also just a dang fun and addictive trilogy, too. If you like RPGs and/or science fiction at all, it's a must-have.

Given that it's a little older now, you should be able to pick up the full trilogy pack for a pretty decent price. You can do PC, XBox 360, or PS3. Also, if you enjoy multiplayer at all, ME3's is excellent and addictive (and still has a healthy population for being a four-year-old game)... also co-op only and no PvP, so less pukes being obnoxious on the mic and most of the teabagging happens between consenting friends who love each other.

I. HATE. SPOILERS.

However, a lot of what you said, and others have said.....is true for me. They have already taken the wind out of our sails with the way they are doing this. I don't feel I can get anywhere NEAR the emotional level I was at during the finale. It's not possible. The wind just isn't there anymore. So I have made the decision that for this one and only time....I am going to actively seek out who it is as soon as possible.

Too bad I made this decision about the one spoiler that is proving to be really hard to find. lol

 

Same here...I don't care and not even bothered to figure it out either.

 

Since the show makers play fast and loose with the continuity, it will probably be Sam and his last words will be Mom Mom.
